Rocket mortgage took over the loan for my Florida house from a bank. I contacted with a offer to refinance which initially I was interested in. The guy though lied about closing costs and I refused to sign anything. Now months later I keep getting harassing phone calls and emails telling me to contact them about refinancing. It's gotten to the point where they even called my work phone number which really freaked me out.
What our my options in this situation? My understanding is they can't force me to refinance even though they took over the loan. Let me know if I'm mistaken. Is there a Florida or Federal law I can quote to press them to respect my answer on no, I do not want to refinance? Is there some way to get this loan owned by a bank again or some institution where I won't be harassed like this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
