As AOL is in the process to restructure as a web content publisher they plan to lay off more than a thousand employees this week alone. The company states that most of these layoffs will happen this coming Wednesday.
This past November AOL told its employees they are starting a “voluntary separation program” which is a program that trys to inspire workers to take a buyout, depending on their position, this can be anywhere from 3-9 months of pay.
The buyout program had more than a thousand takers but it was still not enough to meet the companies goal of cutting about 2,500 of their employees.
