A Florida attorney who was the legal representation behind the Bradford Law Firm and Modify My Mortgage, was disbarred in January by the Florida Bar Association for 5 years, over allegations that he defrauded his clients in various foreclosure rescue scams.
John Charles Archer is accused of failing to properly supervise non-lawyer employees, sharing fees, false advertising, mishandling of client funds, failure to properly maintain trust account records, and accepting certain prohibited upfront legal fees.
Archer allegedly had worked with and shared fees with Jim Richman, who was the only employee for the companies. Archer failed to supervise Richman, who essentially had control over the whole operation from the business, websites, and fee agreements and documents.
Archer can no longer practice law in the state of Florida for a total of five years.
