AIG was reportedly told by Timothy Geithner to keep the details about the insurer’s payments to the banks a secret during our economic crisis.

In a draft done by AIG they said that the insurer paid banks such as Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Societe Generale SA, for credit-default swaps at 100 cents on the dollar.

It seems that the New York Fed purposely pressured AIG to not disclose this very important information.
