what does that mean
I know I read about this somewhere on the forum years ago

Here is a link to Mers website. If you look below the information that shows your servicer, there is a place for you to click that says;

If you are a borrower on this loan, you can click here to enter additional information and display the Investor name.

Did you check to see if maybe Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac owns your parents loan?

Evan, I to don't have anything cant find anything under MERS and I checked Freddy and fannie and they say no so what does that mean?

You can send a written request to your servicer inquiring about the investor of your mortgage, or go to your county recorders website and it may list the investor's name there..
