Sorry to post in this forum, but cannot find an answer. Background, home was bought with a 1st and second with New Century mortgage. New century sold or transferred 1st mortgage to Ocwen via Deutsche during modification in 2010. Second mortgage not paid for since 2009. Title company did title search and cannot find lienholder for second mortgage. How do you get lien released if second mortgage holder cannot be found? Can you file something in court showing cannot be found by title search? Cannot sell home until resolved. Thank you for your help, this site is the greatest!!

Hello,

Thanks for the kind words and glad to help.

When you say there has been a title search, do mean a full paid title search or you just sent to the county court house and searched for the lien?

Have you tried contacting DiTech? They may hold your lien currently unless sold off to a debt collector. Ocwen sold a large majority of their servicing to GreenTree which then shut down and turned into DiTech mortgage.
