Are US Troops Preparing for a Second American Revolution?

American RevolutionBranches of the United States Military and especially the personnel may soon be facing a very grim, delicate decision. Obama may be deploying more troops to places like Afghanistan to mask greater troop movements that involve the movement of possibly 200,000 soldiers from other countries to the US  and Army North, the Army’s component of the Pentagon’s Northern Command, USNORTHCOM.

Back in April, the European Times had reported that Russian Military Analysts are reporting to Prime Minister Putin that US President Barack Obama has issued orders to his Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) top leader, US Air Force General Gene Renuart, to “begin immediately” increasing his military forces to 1 million troops by January 30, 2010, in what these reports warn is an expected outbreak of civil war within the United States before the end of winter.

It was then on October 1, 2008 that one of the armies most elite and well trained units, the First Brigade Combat Team of the Third Divisionwas placed under the command of  NorthCom, which was created in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Shortly thereafter the American Civil Liberties Union was concerned with this deployment and issued a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The ACLU’s has raised questions about the separation between civilian and military government within the U.S. — a separation that dates to the Nation’s founding and that has been reiterated in landmark statutes, most importantly, the Posse Comitatus Act 18 U.S.C. Para. 1385.

The Posse Comitatus Act forbids American militaryto be deployed with state police powers. It also  prohibits search, seizure, or arrest powers to U.S. military personnel.  Amended in 1981 under Public Law 97-86 to permit increased Department of Defense support of drug interdiction and other law enforcement activities.  (Title 18, “Use of Army and Air Force as Posse Comitatus” – United States Code, Section 1385). “DoD Dictionary of Military Terms, 2008″

The Army unit also known as the “Raiders” is among the Army’s most seasoned veterans and some would say “blooded.” These men and women have spent approximately 3 of the last 5 years fighting in Iraq. This was the same unit that lead the assault on Baghdad in 2003 and where they had carried out home-to-home raids to suppress resistors in the city of Ramadi. This was the military’s first brigade combat team to be sent to Iraq a total of 3 times.

Training for homeland scenarios had  begun over a year ago at Fort Stewart.

The force was quickly renamed Chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or high-yield explosive Consequence Management Response Force. Its acronym, CCMRF, is pronounced “sea-smurf.’

From the US Army:

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — U.S. Army North’s Task Force 51 arrived at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., July 31 for Vibrant Response 2009.

The exercise will focus primarily on responding to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosive incidents and is designed to confirm the readiness and abilities of incoming units that will fall under the CBRNE Consequence Management Response Force effective Oct. 1.

The bulk of the forces to fall under the CCMRF include the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, an Army National Guard unit out of South Carolina; the 330th Medical Brigade, an Army Reserve unit out of Fort Sheridan, Ill.; and the 11th Theater Aviation Command, which is a mix of Regular Army and Army Reserve units based out of multiple installations across the United States.

Overall, forces to be trained and confirmed for the CCMRF mission include 64 different elements from different services across 14 different states

Third InfantryThe rock, inscription and wyvern refer to the two designations by which men of the 3d Infantry Division are popularly known: “Marne Men” and “Blue and White Devils”.

The CCMRF have learned such things like how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” that are crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.

A recent Missouri news station reported on the military’s mission recently in their state:

They are testing their equipment to make sure it’s ready to go at a moment’s notice on a mission where they’re taking the backseat to other authorities.

“We’re not going in to take over anything. We are working in conjunction with local authorities already on the scene. We are part of the team to help all Americans,” explains Sergeant Major Bryan Steele.

Helping Americans, a concept quite familiar to the United States Army, and these soldiers at Fort Wood.

But doing it as back-up is a new approach.

“We knew there were things that didn’t go well.”

Colonel Rob Risberg, the officer over the 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood, is talking about domestic disasters of the past- Hurricane Katrina, 9-11, tramatic events that could have been handled better by the agencies that responded, including the military.

This is no joke folks, but the reality fo the unsettling world we now live. Just as we as humans must prepare for the worst, so must the US Military, right?

Back in March, US citizens got to see the army in action when they were deployed on the streets of Fort Rucker, Al, after a mass killing. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that the Army was investigating the matter:

The U.S. Army has launched an inquiry into how and why active duty troops from Fort Rucker, Ala., came to be placed on the streets of Samson, Ala., during last week’s murder spree in that tiny South Alabama community. The use of the troops was a possible violation of federal law.

“On March 10, after a report of an apparent mass murder in Samson, Ala., 22 military police soldiers from Fort Rucker, Ala., along with the provost marshal, were sent to the city of Samson,” Harvey Perritt, spokesman for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) at Fort Monroe, Va., told CNSNews.com on Monday.

“The purpose for sending the military police, the authority for doing so, and what duties they performed is the subject of an ongoing commander’s inquiry–directed by the commanding general of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Gen. Martin Dempsey.”

TRADOC is the headquarters command for Ft. Rucker.

But troops preparing for a revolution or Civil war here in America?

Such a notion seems impossible to fathom. But is there any truth in this? After all, what would be the first sign of such an action? Obviously, the government would use its power to seize private firearms. But our firearms are protected by law, right?

Katrina

Well, you might want to re-think that summary for a minute. After all, look at what happened when Hurricane Katrina hit. The National Guard not only supposedly confiscated firearms from the populace:

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 8, 2005 – Waters were receding across this flood-beaten city today as police officers began confiscating weapons, including legally registered firearms, from civilians in preparation for a mass forced evacuation of the residents still living here.

No civilians in New Orleans will be allowed to carry pistols, shotguns or other firearms, said P. Edwin Compass III, the superintendent of police. “Only law enforcement are allowed to have weapons,” he said.

Not only were guns confiscated from law abiding, legally gun carrying US citizens, but they also forcefully moved people to different areas against their own will and then locked them in make shift prisons like the New Orleans SuperDome.

Below are two rare videos that I found on YouTube with Fox News and Heraldo Rivera. In the shocking video, Heraldo describes the chaos, dead babies and sick people locked in the SuperDome against their will. These video’s are very disturbing and I suggest that you be in the right frame of mind when you watch them:

It was then reported that gangs of thugs raped women and children as these law abiding citizens were forced into lockdown in make shift prisons like the SuperDome with violent criminals without absolutely no way to protect themselves. The government finally arrived to a very hostile crowd of dying and sick Americans over 5 days later:

The mass misery in the city’s two unlit and uncooled primary shelters, the convention center and the Superdome, was compounded, officials said, by gangs that were raping women and children.

The city’s mayor was reported saying, “Evacuees at the Superdome have been “watching hooligans killing people, raping people.”  Mayor, on Sept. 6

But Tribune interviews with survivors, law-enforcement officers and military forces reveal how, for one week after the hurricane, life in the two teeming urban shelters quickly devolved into a Hobbesian world of ruthless predators preying on the weak.

While the more gruesome allegations of gang rapes have not been verified, more than a dozen eyewitness accounts confirmed other acts of brutality.

Survivors told how young toughs commandeered access to relief supplies and tauntingly resold them to the starving masses. People were robbed and killed. Criminal gangs openly battled with fist and gun at the so-called havens.

New Orlean’s Police Captain, ”Ninety percent of the folks were just reduced to an animal existence, trying to survive.

“I’m outraged at being abandoned there by the government,” Bryson said acidly. “I felt totally helpless.”

So, would it be that difficult to assume that the same could happen on a much wider scale if the $hit Hits the Fan (SHTF) and military intervention may be needed, right? If the $hit does Hit the Fan, restoring order will be a delicate balancing act for all law enforcement and military.

One that does not have a good recent history with the Katrina nightmare.

I do understand that we do need a military presence here in the US in the event the worst does happen. Our military is simply preparing for worst case scenarios so they are not caught off guard like Katrina or if things here on our shores go terribly awry.

But when soldiers who are going door to door taking people’s guns to supposedly restore civil order and then they hear that their brothers, sisters, and parents are being killed or raped by armed thugs, will they then second guess their orders to disarm the people?

So, it seems that a big decision might await our military in the near future. There are those who believe, such as Gerald Celente that there will be civil unrest and a possible revolution. Some also believe that this may occur before winter is over.

I guess all we can do is prepare, wait and see.
