Was denied Hamp/Approved for Non-Hamp/Rec Offer Today and it says "Hamp Mod"????

    Ok,

I was denied a HAMP due to 31% ratio. Then I was approved for a non-hamp and I got the Fed-Ex paperwork today. It states HAMP MODIFICATION in bold over the offer. Should I be concerned? Is this a mistake on their part? I want to reject the offer and reapply for a more affordable mod.

If the payment on the offer is 31% of your gross income, it may be a HAMP offer, and if you refuse a valid HAMP offer, you cannot get another one.

    Dear Moe:
I similarly was denied a HAMP but then told I was approved in-house, which interestingly increased my payment by several hundred dollars! The denial did not state I had a right to appeal the denial, but I'd like to. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
