Wells Fargo Modification Denied - Loan Modification Forum

Hi folks -

Congratulations to the guys who got their loans modified.

Till today I havent heard of anyone who got their loans modified until I read this forum .... looks like Banks are really helping.
Hopefully they will help me too

.

I have submitted my paperwork to Wells Fargo almost 2 months back and have been calling them twice or thrice a week but getting the same response. But on May 15th, customer rep said that my application is handed over to Negotiator and they are looking into it. And when I check the status of modification on wells fargo site @ https://www.wellsfargo.com/jump/mortgage/assist, it shows:

Status Overview
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step Name Status
Step 1 Reviewing your account COMPLETED
Step 2 Preparing modification agreement IN PROCESS
Step 4 Payment Received NOT STARTED
Step 5 Documents Received NOT STARTED
Step 6 Reviewing your account NOT STARTED

Not exactly sure what that means though ..... after reading earlier posts on this thread looks like it might take around 30 days to get a response after Step 2 is in process .... Please share your experiences.

Do you folks think that calling the executive team that *** has posted for members @ 1-800-853-8516 would help?

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

YES Definitely I would call the executive team just to see if they can offer any help on speeding up the process.

Hi guys -

Today I tried to access WF home assist tool @ https://www.wellsfargo.com/jump/mortgage/assist and after entering my information .. I got an "access denied" message .... following is the msg I got:

Access Denied: Temporarily unable to access, please try again later or contact WELLS FARGO-708 for further information

What could be the reason? Did any of you guys face same problem?

This worked till yesterday evening.

Yes I had the same thing happen, the number they gave you won't help, mine was shutdown when they put me into default. After speaking with Luke in the Executive office of the President did my access get restored.

i have wells fargo as well and have been trying since early dec 08 to get this done.
they put me on the 3 month forbearance and then when that was done on 4/28/09 i asked to be reviewed for a perm mod. they changed my status today on their website to show processing docs. i called the exec line and they told me that within 7-10 days i should get something from ups regarding the mod. the 3 month payment was orig 1011 and they asked for 785.
i am hoping it is just a little less then that for the orig. not sure keeping fingers crossed.

i called exec office they state in 5 days we should have something sent to us.

when did u start this process or when did ur application reach to Negotiator. If the online status shows "preparing loan mod" then that means its still with negotiator. How did exec give u the exact number of days of you getting something from them? Bcoz everytime I call exec team I get a standard answer of 45-90 days.

on monday the website stated:

step 1 completed
step 2 in process (processing your agreement)
step 3 not started

today it states this:

step 1 completed
step 2 PREPARING MOD AGREEMENT
STEP 4 (NO 3) PAYMENT RECEIVED NOT STARTED YET.

so that is when i returned the call that i had on monday and they confirmed with me at the exec # that i should have something in the next 5 or 7 days.

Well today i rec'd the denied because my fincianials were too old. They were sent in back in dec and they need 30 days or less to work with.
Never told me just denied so now we have to start all over again!

Have you called WF executive office and explained to them that your modification was denied because they didn't have updated financials? Is this was Loss Mitigation is telling you? If so, call the executive offices this morning. I know every case is different but I can't imagine why WF would just deny for because they didn't have updated financials...and that you have to start the entire process over?!? I'd do some fishing around to find out the real reason you got a denial or demand that you fax in new financials and that you want the process to pick up right where you were...you won't get anywhere with Loss Mitigation you'll have to call the executive dept. Good luck! Keep us posted!

Well *** explained to me that Wells just started with the MHA plan in April AND SINCE I FAXED IN DEC THAT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT BUT I HAVE CALLED MY CONTACT AT THE EXEC OFFICE AND SHE GAVE ME HER FAX NUMBER AND SHE STATES IT IS BACK IN REVIEW BUT I AM NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES I AM FAXING THIS AM MY CURRENT BANK/ PAY STUBS PLUS BUDGET AMOUNTS HAVE CHANGED because the 2nd mortgage with hsbc modified it no questions asked... so that is the plus on our side that they were not aware of.

I just checked the status now and it states preparing agreement.
It better not be another forbearance agreement cause i will scream.

They are beginning to get to me now. Will keep you posted.

Don't let them get to you! I know it's hard! I just got off the phone with the executive dept. and she said we've been approved for HAMP program w/waterfall effect...what ever that means...she said it's still not a for sure thing yet, as the the investor Freddie Mac still has to approve it. She said to call back in a week. The wait is killing me! Good luck to you. Keep us posted.

..... did anyone else get the same message recently?

"Your current request for a workout agreement has been denied. Please contact us at 800-678-7986 to explore any other options that might be available to you."

Have you had a chance to call WF? If you don't like what LM says call the executive dept. Everytime I call LM they tell me something completly different than what the executive dept. tells me.

i was on the following when i got that same message denied...

preparing mod documents on tuesday
denied on wed.

called exec office they told me that my docs that were sent in , in dec were too old and i needed to re-fax all. however a simple call to tell me was too much to ask.

newbaby08 - that is amazing that they couldn't just give you a call or mail a letter for updated financials...that just goes to show you have to be all over these banks if you want to get your loan modified!

exactly and i am going to say this, it sounds like they want to put me on another forbearance which would be fine ( i want something done now) and after the 2nd payment is made, i will be re-faxing either a nothing has changed letter or if something has changed so that once the 3rd payment is made, they will auto do the mod. the exec office did tell me that after the 3rd payment i should have sent in something , guess my phone call on 4/29 day after payment posted wasnt good enough.

When my loan got denied ..... we were in 2nd step ..."Preparing modification Agreement". I called WF and they said that our monthly deficit is too high (this is because of my husbands job loss) ... the monthly deficit was around $1900.

Then I told them that there have been some changes on my financials since the last paperwork, they asked me to resend the whole paperwork and the whole process will start again which will take again 3+ months .... which is ridiculous ....

Then I called WF Exec team and the Exec (Carrie) talked nicely and I explained our situation saying that we never had a problem in the past and we both have an execllent credit score and blah blah ..... long story...
But she said that she will look into my case but cannot guarantee anything and asked me to send the updated paperwork directly to her. So I am in the process of preparing the updated paperwork now.

To make my monthly deficit low .... following are the items we are working on:
(1) we are planning to rent out our basement. Do you guys know if thats ok? would there be any tax implications or some unknowns in the furture? Or should we do a Paying Guest deal? One person is ready to rent out our basement also .. so should we do the paperwork saying that the person is renting our basement or should we document the person as a paying guest?
(2) We are significantly reducing our basic expenses and childcare costs.

After doing this ..... our monthly deficit is gone down from $1900 to $300 i.e. we are still -$300. Do you guys know if we would be eligible for modification now? Since my case is dealt by ERT ... can I hope for something good?

Please share your thoughts.

Our loan modification got denied yesterday and the reason was due to our big monthly deficit. This deficit is due to my husbands job loss. The monthly deficit was around $1900. So WF ERT asked me to send the updated financials worksheet.

To make our monthly deficit low .... following are the items we are working on:
(1) we are planning to rent out our basement. Do you guys know if thats ok? would there be any tax implications or some unknowns in the furture? Or should we do a Paying Guest deal? One person is ready to rent out our basement also .. so should we do the paperwork saying that the person is renting our basement or should we document the person as a paying guest?
(2) We are significantly reducing our basic expenses and childcare costs.

After doing this ..... our monthly deficit will go down from $1900 to $300 i.e. we are still -$300. Do you guys know if we would be eligible for modification now? Since my case is dealt by ERT ... can I hope for something good?

Please share your thoughts.

Man, Sounds like many familiar situations as ours. My phone meeting with Wells Fargo is in the morning to "go over updated pay stubs and info". After reading all this deficit denial stuff it has got me to understand it is simply a computer program they are plugging numbers into like a Means Test for BK. When I talk to Wells tomorrow, I will inform them that we are in the process of filing Chapter 7 BK (which we are) to get rid of our unsecured Debt. Hopefully this will help us. Because other wise I am way in the Red.

I stumbled on this website, how I don't know except I was looking for WF/assist....All this information is so good and I am taking it all in.

We lost my husbands income when my husband started having problems with his sight last August. He was declared legally blind in Jan 09. I have been trying to work with WF since February and am really having a hard time.

I found the executive number in one of the posts and left a message for them this morning. We have depleted his retirement income to make ends meet and now things are really critical.

I am so stressed out that I can't think straight any more....I have gotten the run around so many times from WF...and been told too many lies.

I have submitted via fax, with confirmation the hardship letters x 3, financial statements x 3, pay stubs...you name it, it has been submitted.

Maybe I will be able to get some help from the executive team.

Sorry to hear about your situatation. I would call the executive number back, don't wait for them the return your message...because they probably won't. The executive team is great, but I think they are also overwhelmed with phone calls, as I left a message about a week ago and no one ever called me back, so I just followed up when they opened. Keep us posted after you talk to them today.

When I talk to Wells tomorrow, I will inform them that we are in the process of filing Chapter 7 BK (which we are) to get rid of our unsecured Debt. Hopefully this will help us. Because other wise I am way in the Red.

We lost my husbands income when my husband started having problems with his sight last August. He was declared legally blind in Jan 09. I have been trying to work with WF since February and am really having a hard time. I found the executive number in one of the posts and left a message for them this morning. We have depleted his retirement income to make ends meet and now things are really critical. I am so stressed out that I can't think straight any more....I have gotten the run around so many times from WF...and been told too many lies. I have submitted via fax, with confirmation the hardship letters x 3, financial statements x 3, pay stubs...you name it, it has been submitted. I would call the executive number back, don't wait for them the return your message...because they probably won't. The executive team is great, but I think they are also overwhelmed with phone calls, as I left a message about a week ago and no one ever called me back, so I just followed up when they opened.
