Wink Ways to save on grocery! You need to look!!!!

There are ways to save for grocery to the point where you are getting so much for free, you would need to sell your stockpiles! If you know how to use your coupons the correct way, you will pay very little for food and household items.

First step is using coupons. I'm talking about clipping out all coupons that you think is going to be used.

Second step is doubling your coupons with manufacture coupons. You get manufacture coupons in the sunday papers. People usually buy about 4+ of these every Sunday when there are really good deals.

Third step is waiting for these items to go on sale. BUT how would I know when they go on sale? Is that what you're asking? I will provide links. These links will have coupons and manufacture coupons that you may use, but in order for it to be effective you need to also buy them when they are on sale. If not, just use them otherwise.

These forums are great. If you want to learn to really save hundreds a month. You need to read and learn. God Bless and He provides. Any questions please ask. When first starting out, it is overwhelming but it will get easier.

    Hello,

The first link (weusecoupons.com) is under construction and very hard to read or understand and the 2nd link is great, thanks.

Question though i try to save money by coupons but at best all i get is $5 worth of savings per month, then when u add the cost of replacement of your printer ink per year it seems like you dont make anything. Takes alot of time too. How do people save hundreds? like people claim ??? Most of the coupons are for expensive products so getting the generic version with a coupon seems the same to me. I guess i dont get it??? I have signed up with brands but then once you use the coupon once thats it. Alot of work for nothing in my opinion, is this just for stay at home moms who have hours on there hands? There has to be a faster way?
Also the brands are not ones i use for most part, i guess since i use generic verisons of everything, so how can i save any money ??? i have been using coupons.com for 4 months now and i keep a tally of my savings and so far its been about $25 dollars, by the time i get done printing all the pages i will need new ink for the printer which costs about $25 dollars so guess i dont make any money? What are the tricks???

You don't really need to be using generic products. You can get brand names for real cheap. Like I suggested, do the Sunday papers. Buy 4 or more sunday papers, clip out what you will be using and in there is always a Proctor and Gamble manufacture coupons inside. If you combines these two, and wait for the sale on the items, you will do well. It takes a lot of patience. You can print off coupons online too, but sometimes that's not always feasible.

Re: Ways to save on grocery! You need to look!!!!

We buy very very little for which coupons are available and save tons of money on groceries. We buy our grains, flours and beans out of the bulk bins and make food from scratch. We do buy canned beans once in a while but very rarely as I cook large batches and freeze them into cup serving containers. I make our grains and rices from bulk and season them myself, rather than packaged rice mixes and such.

We joined a CSA so we have locally, organically grown produce weekly which I supplement with tomato and herb plants. I'd love to have a full size garden but our small yard and unknown move schedule prevent it. We don't eat meat, but often meat can be obtained through a coop for a significant savings as well. Often receiving such large quantities that I'm able to freeze or can to eat then produce is less plentiful.

To top it all off, as a side effect to eliminating processed food, both my partner and I have lost significant amounts of weight! This has eliminated blood pressure medications and a insulin stabilizing drug for my partner as well - saving us even more!
    1st - CW/BoA: $137k
2nd - HSBC: $75k ($33k purchase money) charged off April 2009 and sold to collection agency. Sent validation letter to collection agency who was unable to prove the debt and removed themselves from credit report.
Current market value based on sales: $69k

Last payment to CW/BoA August 2009, playing the waiting game east of Phoenix.

I agree with you. I think those coupons are for people who has kids below 10 years old. I have coupons but most of the coupons I don't even need or buy.
And the ones I need is already on sale and they don't give coupons on these items. I saw a woman on tv claiming she spent $167 but with the coupons she only paid 42 cents. But I saw the things she bought and I don't buy those things. If you check coupons you probably need them once a year or never use them. They have toothpaste and bath soap and detergent and the most you can save on those is around 50 cents, there's no coupon on meats, chickens, fish, milk, vegetables and everyday needs, because these items are already on sale. So I don't believe in coupons. I do check the store paper sent to me by mail and that's what I check which one is on sale and what store and the locations, I save money doing it that way.
    Regards,

Using afullcup.com is a good choice. You can select your local grocery and it tells you the sales for the week so you can decide on what grocery has the most sales going on and for what so you can quickly decide. Other than that i dont get the coupon savings concept. Like i said i try to look for good deals and tops all i save is $15-20 a month. I mean that is better than nothing just not sure i get when people say they save hundreds a month or your grocrey bill is cut in half sort of thing. I guess those folks take and eat whatever which I cant do. Also like others state there are never coupons for meats, vegetables, everyday stuff people eat. I guess i dont get it. Any other tricks ???

4 or more Sunday papers? That would cost me $6, so I'd be behind from the start. I have tried out coupons from time to time, but since I don't eat cheezy whatzits and the like I can't see that there of much use. You see on TV from time to time, people with whole carts of groceries they've gotten for free, but I don't know how much of their goods I'd use. Anyway, often when you have more you use more...I don't think there's anything wrong with generic products. Laundry detergent? D/W detergent? There are many old-timey things you can use, like vinegar and baking soda instead of buying manufactured products at all.

I have watched those extreme coupon shows. I agree that it is exciting to get $300 worth of stuff for $25. But it seems to me that what they are buying is all processed, unhealthy foods. Or crazy energy/sports drinks. Or more personal care products than they will ever use. None of which I will ever need or use. Seriously, who needs 100 bottles of shampoo? I do occasionally see coupons for chicken breasts, etc. But they are for brand names, when if I buy in bulk from Costco, portion it out and freeze, it's cheaper per pound. For me, what works is planning out meals, checking sales ads and buying on sale. I buy fruit that's in season, I sign up for the stores club so discounts are automatically deducted.
BTW, I am a stay at home mom, and trust me, I don't have "hours on my hands" to spend on anything.
