How long did it take to receive your modification from Ocwen?

We had our loan transferred from Litton to Ocwen in Sept. We were behind but working with Litton. When I called Ocwen after the transfer I was told to be patient and wait because everything was a mess with loans just being transferred over. I was told that for two months until November when I was put into foreclosure. I contact Ocwen again and was told to apply for HAMP which I did on Nov 23 and again on Dec 9 because I filled out the paperwork wrong. As of yet I have not received in writting a denial but was told by agent my HAMP request was denied, she didn't know why, but they were working on an in-house modification. I was told to be patient they were working on it. I received a letter from the lawyer yesterday stating my house is up for sale 1/3. I live in Texas and evidently they have a very short turn around. How long did it take to get your modification from Ocwen? They keep telling me to wait because it is under review but if I keep waiting it will be sold. Their Ombudsman is not helping either. I'm worried with the holidays it is going to be even more challenging than usual to get this done. I'm trying to figure whether to wait and see or just walk out or see if I can borrow the money some home to reinstate the loan. Thank you for your replies!

Welcome and thanks for joining the forum.

I would not wait to follow up, with a sale date just a few weeks away time is of the essence. Sometimes lenders will refuse to postpone the sale date until just a few days before it occurs, but it is crucial you stay on top of them like white on rice to ensure your account is being reviewed and they put in a request to postpone the sale date.

Here are some threads with other members here who were successful modifying their mortgage with Ocwen..

Thank you! I spoke with someone in America today who said I should have an answer by Wed. Praying this is true.

Also trying of a modification with Ocwen...

My loans were also transferred to Ocwen from Litton. I was denied a HAMP with Litton so I sent in the paperwork to Ocwen. I just rec'd a letter stating the owner of my loan does not offer loan modifications or participate in the HAMP program. When the relationship person called today, I asked her to verify if HSBC Bank USA was my investor which I got the information from the MERS online site. She said I would have to fax or email them to get this info. So I sent my email today to the Consumer Ombudsman and hopefully they will get back to me soon. If I don't get answers from them, I will try to send out emails to the big wigs and see what happens!

    Hello Woogy,

A few members here have reported that they have also not been able to get a modification in review for HAMP due to the fact their mortgage is owned by HSBC.. However, this does not mean you do not qualify for a modification, mortgage servicers also have their own traditional in-house modifications which they have been offering well before HAMP came along..

I didn't feel alone anymore, I have tried to give back and counsel those that haven't walked in my shoes yet. We hear so much about what is wrong with America, I just wanted you to know, you are whats "right" with America."
