Thumbs up Countrywide Success!

READ THIS GREAT STORY OF THE FIRST MODIFICATION IN THIS FORUM FROM START TO FINISH!!!

I actually contacted countrywide yesterday. I spoke to their home retention division. And they pretty much told me Im out of luck with a modificiation. My original interest rate is/was 8.29% Till feb 1 2008. I contacted countrywide because My interest will adjust to around 11.89% on that date and will continue an uphill climb since the note is 7.29% above the 6 month libor. This will increase my mortgage payment about 600 dollars. And i explained my situation since my wife has been out of work since january with a complicated twin pregnancy and now that the twins are born she cant return because she has to care for the kids. And if she did we would owe more in childcare then she would make.

Thanks for joining the forum and posting your story! Countrywide's HOPE Department is severly back logged with delinquent and defaulted borrowers. Most all lenders are offering loan modifications to people who are closest to foreclsoure. So the further you are from being a problem or your not a problem at all, means you most likely will not get any help until you are an issue. There has been talk about loan mods for people before the adjustment date but I haven't seen it happen personally.

How much is your monthly gross income and what's your total bills per month?

OK, I read the PM. Looks like you should be fine now but not when your rate increases. I would definitely stay on top of this and keep checking back here and looking for updates with the Countrywide HOPE Department and see if they are getting more flexible.

Re: have a negotiator

Well called yesterday they tried to connect me to my neg. but they were unable to connect. So they said they sent her an instant message through their system followed by an email I should receive a call by 10 am EST. I never received it, so I called again today. The rep who answered said they can see my file has an answer but only the negotiator can give it to me. And she may be off today but they are unable to tell.

Re: have a negotiator

Figures, I called again today for status and there was no status update. I was told to call back yesterday per my negotiator too. Oh well. Will call again friday.
I have been at this since August. But they told me since i was current at the time they wouldnt even talk to me but after the NACA deal in October they changed their tune. So technically all my paperwork was in by October 24th.

Re: have a negotiator

Well I received a call from countrywide yesterday afternoon. They stated they never received the form they needed from tax bureau to prove my taxes were paid. Now they said it’s another two weeks. Since they have to resubmit a form to show my taxes were paid. Moe, yes I am patient with them but that’s only because my new payment isn’t till Feb. But my patience is growing very thin lately since it keeps on getting pushed back more and more.

Countrywide Is A Bunch Of Scumbags

Well as most of you read about my ordeal with countrywide you will know why I am pissed off now. Well I called today and some women with an attitude answered and said my file was declined and closed because financials were never updated (she would not give me her name either). Meanwhile every week they asked for updated financials and I supplied it which has been the same since I started in oct. The phone call I made on dec 31st asked for updated financials too and John the representitive told me my negotiator would call me today. But when I called today they said they had sent a request on the 31st to reopen my acct and it would be sent to another negotiator and start all over. I can’t wait another 3 months for this my rate adjusts Feb. 1st. I’m in a complete depression over this now. BTW I have been sending faxes and letters after each telephone call like Brian suggested .

Re: Countrywide Is A Bunch Of Scumbags

Do not give up!! I have been at it for 5 months now and actually see light at the end of the tunnel. My mortgage adjust again in February so they sure like to cut is close. Meanwhile thay have been taking an extra $610.00 a month while they drag thier feet. I am hoping that if and when I finally I get my mortgage adjusted for 5 years I will try to get some or all of the extra $610.00 a month back somehow. Thier webiste states that a loan mod takes approximately 30 days to complete. Seems like blatenet false advertising and loan deception from what I have seen we all have benn going through. CW drags their feet collecting thousdands of dollars and at the last minute decide to let you save your home. It is all part of the greedy scam we are all victims of. Do not give up!!!!!

sorry to hear about that sswiz. the Countrywide progoganda machine continues as they fleece American homeowners one loan and one fee at a time.

Re: Countrywide Is A Bunch Of Scumbags

swizz

Send a letter of request using the Section 6 RESPA and ask in the letter why they denied this when you have supplied all the financial statements requested and enclose all copies that you have sent them. Also send a copy over to Hud. They like to get these letters. They will have to answer the letter and maybe this will move it along and get you some results. It helped me when they kept taking my downpayments and applying them to my payments. I finally send that RESPA letter and it moved me to a loan modificaiton. Don't give up. Fight them. Get this letter off in the mail registered and also fax it for fast results. I hope this helps. It did me.
It will make them explain why they messed up and maybe they will fix it.
Keep the fight save the home.

Re: Countrywide Is A Bunch Of Scumbags

You will never believe this Angelo Mozilo's office called me, lol. The lady i spoke to was very sympathetic. Gave me everyones direct numbers and called all them while I was on the phone and left messages on my negotitors voicemail and her supervisors voicemail. I could hear everything being said since I was on conference. I wonder what will happen now. Also this lady said no my file wasnt closed out. And its weird cause now I cant access their website again. I wonder if the letters I emailed, faxed and mailed yesterday had anything to do with it. I sent them to Angelo Mozilo, all the board members, most execs within countrywide, ca attorney general, pa attorney general, bbb, 995hope, naca, acorn, vice president of the us, my senator and congressman, ny attorney general.
