My question is I have $415.00 in late fees due to the fact of paying after the 16th of the month. Don't know what is happening with that amount. I know that my paperwork was going through the audit department a second time and should be sent out early next week. Talked to Adrienne as well on Thursday and she was sending a note to my negotiator with my questions. One thing I must say about my dealings with Countrywide....I have experienced very good customer service the majority of the time I talked to them. I nevered her from their collections department either. It is sad though that it took a "QWR" and emails to get this moving. Atrombley1...how long did they give you to get the docs notarized and your check sent back.

We knew our situation was not looking good and didn't want to fall behind. We tried to refinance, but they couldn't help us there either. We received the initial letter that they were going to work with us and then heard nothing for months. I finally called in October, because I knew we were going to fall behind. CW said nothing had been done. In November, now being one payment behind we received a foreclosure letter. I couldn't believe it. We called the modification department and they told us not to worry about it because we were in the system. Frustrated I called several more times in November - most of the people I reached were rude and not very helpful. December I called a few more times and still got the same answer that nothing was being done on the loan mod. On the 24 of December I was making a payment (still one month behind though) and saw that CW offered repayment options. I call CW and finally (at least I thought) spoke to a pleasant person about doing repayment options. We talked over things, but the CW rep said we shouldn't do this because we were already in the loan mod. process and this would be much better for us. He said to just hang on until 1/15 when our file was supposed to be closed. But he also recommended that we call each week. On the 8th of January, I called and the CW rep this time I am told that our foreclosure notice expired on the 2nd and that they couldn't guarantee that they wouldn't foreclose on our house. "She said this is an eye opener that you need to pay up" - I was so upset, that I told her that back in August (when we were still on time with payments) was my eye opener to them that we needed help. If the loan mod wasn't going to work - then why didn't they offer us the repayment schedule - SIGH. I just called today and like always I get different information. This time the CW rep said that our foreclosure notice expired on the 2nd of Dec not January. But yet the CW rep back in November said NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT!!! At least this time they said something was happening - but nothing about it actually going forward. Her last comment to me was that there is NO guarantee and that we should look at other options! AACK!!! I know it isn't their fault we are behind, but we knew we would have to refinance out of our 2 ARM to be able to afford the payments - even at CW loan officers recommendation when we took the loan. But we are willing and able to keep our promise to CW - we just needed some help at this time. We never thought it would take this long. It is good to know that they have helped someone. |

Andrew is anyway I can I call you, so I can get a better grip on how should I approach the situation and who should I call. My situation is that my loan is expiring in 4 month to 8.25% PI. I used to have 4.25 interest only now is 6.25 plus principle and will be 8.25% in 4 month. I really hope that you guys can help me to survive. and I can get 5 years 5% or so, but interest only. Thank you. Eli |

It's very unlikely they will give you interest only since those are the types of loans that are involved in the subprime mess. Are you able to afford your payments now?
