I bought out my ex-fiancee in 5/05 with an Arm at 6.00% - knowing that I would need to re-fi come 6/08 -but not knowing what a MESS I would be in. I called in January and was told - oh, you are way too early but we have a program that will lock in your rate for three years - nothing to worry about - I said SUPER! I am totally current with loan. I called back in February - oh, you are still too early but I will send out out the paperwork at the end of the month. I filled it all out and mailed in back and fax'ed it right away. They tell me they did not receive it until March 27. On April 3, I was told it could take anywhere up to 45 days??? I had until June 1st when my mortgage will go up $325. - I am cutting it close NOW WITH IT AT $1,447. Anything extra will be impossible. I try and tell to FF this over and over. I called end of April and they tell me it went to a NEGOIATOR ASSISTANT on 4/17 and to call end of April - still with assistant....... I wait till mid-May - nothing happening and my patience is wearing thin. Last week, I got a name and her voice mail but she has yet to call me back???? - In summary, I have tried for the past five months to get this done, I have never been late with my payment, I have a secure job for the past 15 years, I love my home but I can not afford an increase in payments - WHY CAN'T I BE GIVEN THIS LOAN MODIFICATION AND BE DONE WITH IT? Why do I have to go to absolute hell and back??? I am a single parent with two teenagers in school and I really want to keep my house!! Can anyone help me? |

| Re: Waiting Forever for a FF Loan Modification!!! They wouldn't send me the modification info util I was in default so I started the process after I missed my payment in February and haven't paid since. I received a letter stating that as of 06/01/08 I will be forwarded to the foreclosure department. They keep telling me I am close but that my mod will probably be denied b/c I have no surplus income so I am really waiting for nothing. We are waiting for the official word on the modification but if we are denied we are just going to let them foreclose. They did come to my house to see if we were still living there though. |

If they told me in January, I had not chance in hell of getting them to freeze the rate, maybe I wouldn't be sooo mad. But to string us along like this........... I am not going to miss a payment, even if I have to get a night job. I brought up two kids by myself with no child support in the mid-1990's and had to foreclose and claim bankruptcy. It has taken my 10 years plus to make my credit good again - I can't go thru that again.......besides I LOVE MY HOUSE.......... |

| Re: Waiting Forever for a FF Loan Modification!!! That is sad, keep on them and don't miss a payment if you don't have to. I regret that we did that. Just keep calling them every few days. This site is full of hope and successes. A few people have had really great results with FF. Go to the sucess forum or do a search for FF or first franklin. They are slow especially when you are on time but they can't stall forever. The squeaky wheel gets the oil!! |

I have gone to the success stories and it did make me feel better! I hope your situation improves, also. We are all in such a place - where none of us ever meant to be. Well, you know the old saying - God doesn't give you anymore than you can handle! |

What I did was get direct contact with my negotiator, he was very helpful and once I contacted him, the process took less than a month to complete. I'll give you a secret here. You can call and tell them that you are working with an agency/non-profit etc. and that you need the negotiator's name/ext. assigned to your case for the agency. Once you get it, contact him/her directly. They are very much willing to help you out. My case with FF stalled until I was able to get to the netogiator. Keep your head up!!! |

She needs the last two recent pay stubs since it has been so long - she said it would take like a week before I knew for sure what they could do but not to pay June mortgage until I talked to her? She also said final approval was with her supervisor. Can anyone read into that??? - |

She said she would have my numbers by Friday. - It sounds like they will put into my monthly payment, my property taxes which are due Dec 1 - is this normal? She told me to mail my June mortgage payment and she would heold it in an suspense account for my contribution (my escrow for property taxes) - Oh, she said this is good for three years - they just changed it |
