Wilshire Loan modification SUCCESS!!

I am looking for success stories of loan modifications with Wilshire. I am sending my package to them within a few days. My package is a loan modification request, financial statement, hardship letter, etc. which is what Wilshire has requested. My interest rate is due to adjust in August and I am taking the necessary steps to fix this prior to my rate adjusting and me having any late payments. Any advise you can provide about Wilshire is greatly appreciated. I know I must send everything certified as they lose all docs, etc. I would like to hear about experiences with Wilshire that lead to success in loan modification. I look forward to reading your posts.

Re: Loan modifications with Wilshire

Thank you for your advise. This email you provided is for Wilshire or someone else? Also, I had my boss (attorney) read my hardship letter to Wilshire and he thought it was great. I also would like to copy someone on my letter so that Wilshire sees I plan on being proactive and putting up a fight. Any suggestions as who the proper person would be to copy on my letter? Attorney General for Florida, or anyone or entity currently able to help to investigate predatory lending?

Re: Loan modifications with Wilshire

***, I have now received a form response from Wilshire stating that they have received my inquiry and that I will receive a response from them in 60 days. Yet this response from Wilshire, which is a computer generated response is dated June 3rd, even though I did not email/fax them my package until June 4th. Goes to show their competence over there. Quite concerning. Do you think I should write a response to their response asking for a response within 30 days as 60 days is too long and leaves me no buffer zone to prepare as my rate is due to adjust right during the time they promised to respond to me? What do you suggest?

Re: Loan modifications with Wilshire

No it is different then a modification and goes to the customer service dept. a Qualified Written Request is used when you need to get some loan documents or look at how payments are being applied........and also if an attorney is requesting them for a doc review....

Re: Loan modifications with Wilshire

Any new advise regarding working with Wilshire on a loan modification. They are working with me and going over my finances but claim they are only allowed to reduce the interest rate 1% from the teaser rate. Well my teaser rate is 9.11% extremely high and if they reduce to 8.11% that is still high. Any advise? I think I should keep pushing for a reasonable modification as right now I feel they are not offering me one. Please let me know any experiences advise you may have concerning this. THANK YOU!

Re: Loan modifications with Wilshire

sent to me by member..........

Hi ***,

You may now add me to your success list. Wilshire has received my signed loan modification agreement (and a check for $138.00 which is their fee for the modification) and my account online is reflecting the next payment due date of 9.1.08 and the interest rate of 7.5%. Again, my modification was approved with Wilshire for 36 months, my interest rate was reduced from 9.11 to 7.5 (with a bit of a fight as they only wanted to reduce it to 8.11) for the 36 months. This made my monthly payments go down $280.00. I did have to call constantly and stand up for my rights and my best interest to get something that worked for me and not just them but I got it. Also, I made my modification request before my rate was due to reset and before ever having a late payment which may have helped me a lot.
I am very happy and thank you and Loansafe for all your help.

Re: Wilshire Loan modification SUCCESS!!

Yes, ***'s entry above is my email to her confirming my success with Wilshire. My loan modification is confirmed. My interest rate was reduced from 9.11% to 7.5% for 36 months. This brought my monthly payment down approximately $280. I submitted my loan modification package in late May and thanks to ***'s advise and Loansafe, I got a pretty quick response because I not only overnighted my package, I also emailed it in to Wilshire per ***'s advise (Thank you *** for providing me with Wilshire's email address). I did copy my state's governor and attorney general on my modification request to let my lender know I would not go down without a fight. Then I continued to email Wilshire requesting a status within about 3 days of having submitted my loan modification request. I was soon assigned a loan workout officer, Judy Apple, who assisted me in fixing up my financial statement. Ms. Apple submitted a loan modification request for me but was asking that my interest rate only be reduced 1% from the teaser rate. Ms. Apple was not allowed to submit a request for a rate any lower than 1%. This is when I decided to email Stacie Bartlett (Stacie_Bartlett@wcc.ml.com), Wilshire's client relation specialist, and I complained that I did not think that reducing my interest by only 1% was fair. I was nice about it and thanked them for their efforts but complained that the interest rate they were planning on keeping me at was still highly predatory and I copied the governor and attorney general again in my email to Ms. Bartlett. I soon received a call from an Allen Carr who I expressed my disagreement with. Mr. Carr was testing the waters with me and wanted to get a feel for what I wanted. That is when I threw 7.5% out there. I said get me 7.5 and I will be happy and that would also help me. I expressed that I was looking out for my best interest. If Wilshire sees even a $400 surplus in your monthly finances they will try to keep you on a monthly payment that will keep you squeezed, they are looking out for their best interest and whoever is negotiating a loan modification with them has to look out for their best interest, ask to speak with someone in management and fight for what is best for you, yet be reasonable and nice. Also, I started my negotiating with Wilshire 2 months before my interest rate was set to reset and also before ever having a late payment. This helps I believe, but even those with late payments should not be afraid to fight to keep their home. Good luck to all future Wilshire Loan Modification requesters. I want to take this time to give a big thanks to Loansafe and *** Damiano. During the whole process I would email *** at her personal email and she always responded with advise and responses to my many questions. Thank you ***! Loansafe is a great site with lots of good information for those trying to avoid foreclosure. My advise to everyone, do not be afraid to stand up and fight to keep your home. Do not be afraid to ask for a lower payment as it is possible, your lender has the ability to do many things to help you, you just have to demand (in a nice way) what is best for you. These Lenders do not want any more homes in their inventory. See what it is that they want to offer and if you feel it is not fair, speak up, send them emails and copy your state's attorney general and governor. The first offer your lender gives you is usually not the best they can do, contrary to what you read in the media. Many of us have been in these toxic loans for 2 years or more and deserve to be placed in a more reasonable loan, do not be afraid to ask for a more reasonable modification! If I can help anyone with advise about Wilshire please respond to this thread and I will help in any way I can. Good luck to you all and again, thank you Loansafe and *** Damiano! We are so lucky to have people like you who care and are taking action to help people avoid foreclosure.

Re: Wilshire Loan modification SUCCESS!!

That's great! Could you please, PLEASE??? post the expenses that they asked you to give them. Our income/expense is in the red if everything stays the same so I'm looking for which expenses they actually use in the workout with Wilshire to see if we would look any better and not give expenses that they don't use. THANK YOU!!! I'm going today to talk with them at an expo so if anyone can help....HELP???!!!
