Countrywide Fight to SUCCESS!!

I have an original loan from Countrywide. We got behind on our payments and was recommended for a modification of the loan. Mind you, this was in October 2007. I provided them all the documents that they requested and at first they told me I would have to go into a repayment plan. A negotiator was assigned and she contacted me and advised that I did not qualify for a repayment plan and that she would recommend a loan modification. So, I was assigned another negotiator and waited patiently. I have contacted Countrywide every single week since Octobert and FINALLY on April 17th I was contacted and advised that my modification was approved. They told me the amount I would need to send in with the paperwork I was supposed to receive but when they told me the new monthly payment, there was a typo on the papers and it showed the new payment to be 63.00 a month. I told them there was no way that could be correct and she advised she would contact the negotiator and get it corrected. Here we are at May 8th and I still have not received anything from them. And to make the story even better, last week when I contacted them, they advised that they had a bunch of accounts that were cancelled out in error. The rep I spoke with was going to escalate it to his supervisor and she was supposed to contact me letting me know the monthly payment and when to expect the documents. Well, today I received a collection call from Countrywide wanting to know when I would be paying the past due amount. Now keep in mind, they advised me not to make any payments until the modification was worked out, because it would mess up the numbers. So, I am about 7 months behind now and they are telling me that the modification will have to be started all over again because the account was closed out in error. THEIR ERROR. I just got off the phone with another rep who assured me that it is noted all over the account that they modification was approved and he was also going to escalate it to his supervisor also. I haven't heard a word from the first supervisor yet and I need to know who to contact higher up to get this worked out. I don't see how in the world they can call me and let me know that it is approved and now just say oops, we have to start all over. They have made it now to where I won't be able to catch it up without their help. I should have listened to my inner voice and kept making the payments, but they assured me it would just delay the process. Anyone out there have a phone number or an email address where I can voice my problem and maybe get some help????

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help! I did exactly what you said and sent a copy of my hardship letter and an explanation of the runaround I had been receiving to the email addresses you provided. The very next morning I received a call from the President's Office letting me know that they had received my email and would be assigning it to one of their own negotiators to try to reach an agreement. The next day the negotiator contacted me and told me that she had already prepared all the numbers and was ready to submit it to management for approval. Two days, can you believe it?? She gave me several senarios on what she was trying to get approved and all of them were much better than what I was expecting. She said she was hoping to contact me within the week to advise what they approved. Of course, I know it isn't a done deal yet and I'm trying not to get too excited, but wow, I've been trying to get this accomplished for 7 months. I am so thankful that I found your website and followed your advise. I will let you know what I find out.

We received the loan documents by FedEx yesterday just as promised. We were approved for a straight modification which I think basically just brings our account current. They have figured in the interest, escrow and fees and just rolled it into the loan and adjusted the monthly payment. They aren't requesting anything up front and our payments don't start until July. The payment is a little higher (12.00) than it was previously, but I can live with that. They also did not fix the interest rate. Right now we are standing at 9.85 but our payment has gone down the last two times the rate adjusted. It was up as high as 10.65. It won't reset again until September of this year. If the interest keeps going down, this will be a good thing. Of course, if it goes up we will just deal with it. This will bring our account completely current on everything and out of arrears. That will be a good feeling. At this point in time, it will save our home and it is a payment we can manage. I am taking the deal and very grateful for your assistance.
