Smile CW Modification 4 Months SUCCESS!!

Has anyone had this problem with Countrywide. I requested and was told I was approved for a Loan modification on December 21, 2007 we are now in April and I call them every week to get the status. Every week that I call some one new is working on it and now they tell me that I'm not even approved anymore! What is that. Well I updated my finances with them and then they told me I would have to start all over with the modification and I am approved again and call back in 30 days. OK it's been 4 months.. Are they just stringing me along or are they really that busy. If anyone know's what I should do please let me know or if you have had the same problem with them. I have no idea what's really going on with my loan modification.

Re: Been in Loan Modification Status for 4 Months

I just posted about this...but I have a friend who hasn't made a payment in 9 months with Countrywide - they haven't foreclosed or even come after him any more than a couple of letters saying that he is in default.

Re: Been in Loan Modification Status for 4 Months

This is very normal and yes, they are VERY busy with thousand and thousands of loans in default and foreclosing. Each negotiator has 500-700 files. People/homes they are taking care of. Scary, I know.

You have to keep doing what you are doing. You need to be the proactive, responsible party with them and keep at them. It would not hurt to send a QWR (if you have not already sent one) demand - there are examples of the letter in the Tool Box. In that letter demand your Life of Loan History, copy of Note, Deed of Trust, Riders, all Assignments of the Deed of Trust, TIL, Right of Rescission (if refi), Lender Final HUD-1, copy of initial loan application and final lender loan application, all disclosures and all loan documents in your file, copy of appraisal. Send this three times certified return receipt required and also send it to the Broker, Title Company and all others in the Chain of the Transaction.

Then you will need to call, call, call and fax, fax, fax. All correspondence should include all of your identifying information, the loan number, your name, property address, day and evening phone and fax numbers, email address and the last 4 digits of the primary borrowers social security number. You should call and fax daily.

Re: Been in Loan Modification Status for 4 Months

vlacoe,

Also what we find that seems to quicken the process a bit is to put your hardship and the runaround that you have been given by CW into the body of an email and send it to each one of the following email addresses.........the usually respond within 48 hours..........

Hope this helps.........

Please keep us posted on your progress........

Unhappy Re: Been in Loan Modification Status for 4 Months

Hello, I just wanted to say, I know yr pain. I'm in the same situation w/CW. I stared my load modification in Dec 2007. I've called them several time each month to be told the same thing. Someone will be in contact. I continued to make several calls to find out the status & low & behold, I recv'd the first call from some on 4/25. Now at the beginning of the modification, I was adv'd to not make my monthly payment, due to the modification. I was adv'd, that if the modification was approved that I need to have @ least one month payment ($1200 plus any fees/late charges) they adv'd,no more than $1500. On 4/25 when I was contacted by CW I was adv'd that I need to send them $2100 right away & they need it by 4/29. I was in awww, because I wa never adv'd that in the beginning. I was told by the agent for CW that the new was was that they need 30% for the amount owed. I asked why I was never adv'd that before & all she could say was that this was their new policy. On top of all that, they are reporting my payments as being late to the credit co. How are they helping out homeowners if they are reporting the loans as being late. I feel they are reaping homeowners off big time. Alot of people really don't know the end & out of the mortgage world. I remember when owing a home was the American Dream, but due to predatory lending, they are really making it hard for us. I hope I haven't waited to late to respond & get HELP!!!
