It has helped me to realize that I am not alone through my struggles with trying to get back on track. Our problems with countrywide began a year ago. Originally our mortgage was through a different bank and was sold to countrywide. We were always on time. Then my husband and me went through a divorce and I was here at home paying the mortgage and everything else. I fell behind by two months, then when I had the money their site wouldn't let me pay online. My husband and me got back together around that time and he called cw and they told him not to send in the payments that we would have to qualify for a work out plan. I thought this a little strange so I called and they told me the same thing. So here we are two months behind and falling further behind. After calling for about two more months they finally sent us papers for us to fill out, but they were to allow us to live in our house and pay rent. I started calling several times a day and finally went through the process to start a work out. They said I would hear from them within a week, when I didn't I called in and by the time I could actually get someone on the phone to talk to about it they told me we had been approved and were waiting on us to call them, and it had been two weeks since we were approved so the time ran out. So falling further behind on our payments. I finally talked to Brian who said to fax him my info, I faxed it to him and never heard anything back. I called in and no one seemed to know what was going on. So I call back in a go through the process again to qualify for a work out plan. So I get Dorothea Lewis as my negotiator. I finally got the right paperwork in the mail, which had to be returned in less than a week. We filled everything out, didn't have the whole amount asked for a down payment so I tried many, many times to call Dorothea and find out whether we could have the date extended or if we should go ahead and send in the paperwork without the funds. I called many times daily, I was told everytime that she wasn't signed on to their system so she wasn't there. Finally after so many calls and emails sent to her I get a call from my new negotiator Charlotte Wilson. So I tell her whats going on and she jumps on me to send in the paperwork asap. Last week I talked to her and she said that the paperwork had to be turned in by this past monday. I overnighted it and called to see if they got it and it was there Friday. When I talked to her on the phone I said we would send the funds this week. She says ok. This morning she calls me and tells me that unfortunately she cannot approve our work out because it was not there on time. See Dorothea Lewis sent us the paperwork with her address, our workout was transferred to another negotiator in the process of us sending it back in. So, Miss Lewis informs me there is nothing she can do for me. I asked her what am I supposed to do now? My house is in foreclosure time is crucial. She says call 888-219-7773 and start the process over. So I call and speak to them. Now they tell me they cannot do a work out because I still have an active workout in their system after I spend an hour with them on the phone. So she tells me she is putting a reinstatement in for me since that is her only option, the computer won't let her do anything else. I asked what this is and she says they will determine the amount you will have to pay to get your house out of foreclosure, but she wasn't able to give me even an estimated amount. Then today I come home and in my mailbox is a sale date on my house for April the 28th. Everything I have been fighting for all this time just gone. I don't want to give up this is our home. My husband wants to get boxes and start packing he's just scared they are going to tell us to get out and we won't be left with many choices. I'm sorry I know this is long but it's been a rough day. Please any help any advice |

She said that if they need to they can postpone the sale date to my house. I called the other two and left messages. |

At least I know it is possible to postpone or hopefully cancel the sale date. It's just been a frustrating day. But I do appreciate the advice and the quick response to my post. It really does help to have this site and see that I'm not alone. |

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if there is something else I should be doing. Should I be calling the bank of new york? I also got a letter in the mail for some kind of help to keep us from foreclosing, I'm going to call them today to find out what that is about. This is just so frustrating, a month ago I felt like I was actually for once getting somewhere now that's all gone. I will fight this until the end, I am persistent! My husband now wants to post our house for sale in the washington post so at least the foreclosure won't be on our credit. I just feel like I should be doing more!! |

Do not believe any of it...............you can do this yourself......you don't need to pay someone to not do anything and run with your hard earned money....... Please just keep in touch with the contacts at CW that I gave you and the office of the President they have the ability to suspend your foreclosure while you are going through the modification......... The worst thing that you can do right now is lose hope.........that will not help in the fight to save the house......that will just make you give up prematurely........ Read through all of the Countrywide Successes and get motivated if you want to save your house......... Call Linda again............you really need to pester them.......if you want to keep the house...........you already have a modification on the table. Then I came to this site and read one story, I don't remember which one, it was just the woman in it inspired me with all she was doing to fight and still be able to keep the hope. Now-I have come way to far and have been fighting for too long to let them just scare me into giving up because of a sale date. Now that just motivates me more since I have less time and I've already been calling cw 3-5 times a day. They will keep hearing from me until we work this out. I learned a long time ago to not wait on them to call me and much patience is needed when working with them. Thanks for your advice and support. |

I know you can do this...........just keep after them with that modification that should be still in place and try to have it reinstated. They should be able to do this for you. Tell your husband to at least wait and see if you can get the mod reinstated before jumping the gun. A positive attitude will bring positive results...........

So, she tells me that there is nothing left for her to do. I am out of her portfolio and there is nothing she can do. I need to call hud and see if I prequalify for another workout. She says that I am no longer in the system as having an active workout plan. So I guess I will be calling hud after work, who I just talked to yesterday and said I was active and they wanted me to do a reinstatement. So I'll give them a call and see what my friends have to say. |

She gave me a number to call and said to speak directly to a supervisor. This was another number to the home retention team. After being disconnected the first time they transferred me to a supervisor, I called right back and got a hold of the first person there who made me feel like someone wants to help. She had her supervisor there with her trying to help because there is so much confusion. Our negotiator put in their system that she never received our paperwork. It got messed up because the different addresses between our two different negotiators!! Well, I managed to get her supervisors name and direct line. They also said they have no sale date for our house and they asked who the attorney was that sent us the sale date letter and of course they have never even heard of them!! So, now our case has been escalated to higher ups from her supervisor. She stated that she saw how many times I have called them and said she could see where we were really trying to get things to work out. So hopefully we will be able to get this together in time. I was wondering though, should I call the lawyer who sent us the sale date letter? |

Don't let up on the call campaign...........you are getting movement and making progress......and that is a good thing.

I keep calling them everyday, one of them Kim, let me know that it will take 30-45 days to process my request for a mod and that I need to give them time. I let her know, I don't exactly have that long and reminded her of my sale date on my house. Of course, they still don't have a sale date in their system. She asked who the lawyer was and like the other one said she had never heard of them. She made the comment that it was someone just trying to scare me, what??? So, finally I get the number for fidelity national, so as Kim states they can reassure me that my house is not for sale. They were supposed to run it in the local paper today, and it's not in there. Is that a good thing? I'm just getting more and more confused by this, and how they really don't seem to have their act together. |

I figure the more calls I make the better shot I'll have at getting through to someone. cw actually got a little nasty today, telling me I need to give them time to process my request, but they never said to stop calling. |

It is absolutely wonderful to be able to come here and read and get the information and inspiration I need to keep fighting. I feel like I've been climbing a mountain-I get halfway to the top and get knocked back down. Now I'm runnin to the top! Such a trying day with cw. I called Raquel Robinsons office and she said that she would email my old neg. to review my file asap, since now they are showing a sale date on my house. So, my old neg. calls me, actually pretty quick and of course says there is nothing she can do my file is out of her system, but she says that since there is a sale date that will speed up the process a little bit with assigning a new neg. ok, then she starts going through my file makes a comment about me not being committed what? About how far behind we are on payments, how she attempted to call me once, which I called her right back. on and on she goes. I am a strong person, I don't break down but today, well she made it really hit that losing my home is reality. So after getting off the phone and calming down I decided what the heck, why not try this hope hotline, if anything at least the voice on the other end will be friendly and hopefully hope can help. So, after telling them my story and answering many questions, which dealing with cw for all this time had me prepared to answer! Tomorrow morning Holly and me are calling cw to see if they can't help to speed things up more, since time is running out. Oh, I did call the attorneys office, they do have a sale date and of course who do you think they referred me back to? I am just so very thankful for this site and all of the advice and fuel power I have gotten for this fight! |

Last Friday I called cw and finally had enough when I was told to call back later this week to see if I had been assigned a negotiator. So....I emailed my hardship letter to every email address I found on this site. Thank you loan safe Monday I received a call from misty in the presidents office, they postponed my sale date until May 27th. She told me I would be assigned a negotiator within 48 hrs, if I hadn't heard anything she gave me her number and extenstion to call her back. Today I received a call from believe it or not an extremely friendly and helpful negotiator, who I called twice today and both times she answered the phone. I came home from work today and there were my modification papers sitting on the front porch. She even had told me to call her when I got them so we could go over the paperwork together. Yay, now I'm just keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it gets approved. If it wasn't for this site I would never of known what to do and I sure wouldn't of had these papers today. So thank you for all the advice, and *** thank you for your quick responses that always made me feel so much better |
