Any HSBC Success stories out there?!?

Has anyone had any kind of loan mod success with HSBC? And if so - had ANYONE gotten their principal amount reduced?!?

kcbmj8, the only successes I've had with HSBC were two temporary interest rate reductions - each one for 6 months, and they reduced my payment by approx. $100 each time. I haven't been able to get anything permanent.

Yea - I haven't heard of any positive stories for HSBC. They've offered us a forbearance agreement for 3 months with the opportunity of a loan mod at the end of the 3 months, but I don't want to waste time if we're not going to get something permanent in the end. (Of course the guy on the phone said that this is the first step to getting a loan mod and that we could possibly get a permanent loan mod after this - yeah right!)

Anybody have ANY stories at all about HSBC - good or bad?!? Just haven't seen much about them on these forums.

kcbmj8, if you use the search feature and put in "HSBC", you'll see all of the threads and posts regarding HSBC. There have been a few members who have been able to get a lower rate for 18 months, but not permanently, and no principal reduction. On the other hand, there is a member who got a permanent fixed rate (2%, I believe) after her husband died.

Thanks...duh! Didn't think about that.

Guess I have a reason to off my hubby...LOL!! Actually, thinking about him and my children are the only thing that's getting me thru all this. Guess I can't off him just yet - I need him :0)
