CW Modification Game to SUCCESS!!

Hello to everyone!!

I am a newbie to being a homeowner and I am praying and hoping for my negotiator to come through!! I have been reading this forum for about a month and didn't have the time to actually register and put in my experience so far. Like many of you, were all in this waiting game and we all have different situations. My situation is the following:

I got into my first home loan (not the best one). 2-years IO adjustable rate. It has gone up 600+. Mind you, this is my first home loan. I'm pretty much tight with expenses right now and have not lost hope. I called CW on 2-18 and I was asked questions regarding income etc. I was told to write a hardship letter and fax it in, along with my bank statements. On the 20th I did just that. I called again and they said that as of the 21st, I was already assigned to a negotiator.

Since then, I have continued calling twice a week, just to keep myself up to date on what's going on.

1st call: They have received your hardship letter
2nd call: You have been assigned a negotiator
3rd call: The negotiator is conducting an analysis
4th call: he's waiting on the lender
5th call: he's waiting for your home tax info.
6th call: same as above
7th call: I asked the rep. to email him my phone number and to have him call.

That's about it.. I'm still waiting for a call. The 7th call was done this afternoon. I'm thinking of writing a letter maybe? or an e-mai? I know his name and I'm wondering if his e-mail would be: name_name@countrywide.com

I could try that? and if not then I will fax it to his attention.

Let's hope! I'm praying that my modification goes through smoothly.

Wow, sounds like you got more information from Countrywide when asking for a status...and you started last month! I started in January and nothing. Just that it has been assigned to a negotiator that does not seem to exist. I wish you all the luck in solving this problem. I hope to follow your posting to see your outcome...

Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining us.......
The e-mail formula if you can get full name is firstname_lastname@countrywide.com if the underscore does not work, use a "dot" they switch to make it hard on us.
They might be on the dot in between the names right now, so try that and keep us posted on your progress

Wow.. I just suggest to keep calling.. I don't want to come accross like a nag. since I keep calling but then imagine? they won't call me??? I mean, I keep receiving mail from Countrywide that my APR is about to go up? DUHH and to re-fi but imagine! the house does not appraise.. anyhow, I will continue with my CW Journey.. I will prepare an e-mail tonight.. I'm hoping this works.. and opens up new doors this week.. goodluck to everyone else.. just keep calling..

Thanks Poppy!!! I just completed the e-mail and sent it this way to my negotiator:

name_lastname@countrywide

name.lastname@countrywide

and

initiallastname@countrywide <---- this is the ONLY one that bounced back

So?? the other two didn't .. let's hope the negotiator has TWO emails LOL

I will fax the letter tomorrow just to follow up! Let me ask you a question Poppy.. I don't want to complain just yet.. they have given me information rather quickly.. but I would like to fax and keep calling in order to keep updating myself about my loan. I can't afford 600.00 more a month.. it's just too tight financially.. so anyhow, I will wait for a response but then again.. what should I fax??? just the e-mail that I've actually sent?? Or maybe creating a new letter and attaching my e-mail? in a few days?

You have microsoft publisher.....make the hardship letter tragic....they have all kinds of interesting effects....

No just silliness, just a letter to ask if they need or want anything else and to ask for status on the progress of the modification...same thing that you would want from the phone call if you could get through to someone.

So far so good.. I have yet to receive a bounce back from both e-mails:

I sent my hardship letter already but I could continue to revise it with my current "waiting game" as I call it LOL

Try that number I gave you as well, just do the 0000 thing until the second time they ask if you want to speak to a human....a sentient human that is....Country Wide is better than most at having CSR's that are nice....have them e-mail your negotiator as well, that way there is a note in your file that you called....

Morning

I sent a fax this morning and it's funny! But I already had that fax number.. it was the same fax number that they gave me in order to fax in my hardship letter from the beginning.

I sent in a cover letter just basically asking to forward this to my negotiator and thanking them for helping me with this process etc. I also sent in a copy of the e-mail I sent him last night.

I called 2times yesterday and I confirmed that the activity on my account shows the previous rep. having e-mailed the negotiator. I just wanted to make sure.

I'm aware that CW is swamped swamped swamped! and that's why it's GOOD to call call call and FAX FAX FAX LOL.. I will fax on Monday again, if it were up to me.. I would FAX FAX FAX the same thing 20times in one day.. just so someone would call me and tell me.. PLS don't FAX US so much! LOL but nahh, I would not want to get annoying either.. but If no one gets back to me! I tell them that I'm calling because the CW rep. told me to continue to call weekly to obtain an update on my case etc.

Anyhow, I wish everyone luck on this journey! and I'm hoping/praying that everything will turn out for the best and quick too!! I am trying to be patient here..

Poppy, have you seen plenty of success in my case?? I hope so!

I'm in TOTAL shock!!

He CALLED!!! and as we were talking, my phone DIED!! I should have kept it charged!! grrrr. LOL anyhow, he wrote me and were looking at two options! I'm keeping my fingers crossed///prayers///and hopes up!

I faxed in the e-mail and called and he e-mailed back! yayyy

AMEN to that!!! Listen.. I have spent an entire day googling stuff.. and could you believe?? CW is hiring a whole mess of new negotiators!! this is GOOD News!

My negotiator is the SAME negotiator of a girl named Stacey who posted her story not too long ago.

I submited my Hardship letter on the 18th of FEB and by the 21st I had my negotiator.. I have been calling twice a week.. NOW.. thanks to this, I got the guts and e-mailed him last night and faxed in my email as well.. he was super nice and called me.. and then emailed me since my phone died. I know they are all very busy! but remember that everyone has different issues and it's sad but I just keep my hopes high! i keep myself positive and consistent.. I will keep trying.. I will keep at it.. until I get the papers in my hands and something at least approved..

Positive thinking has a lot of good results, but please call, call, call and fax, fax, fax with the e-mail, e-mail, e-mail thrown in for good measure. They are nice people and they are for the most part trying to get through this just like we are.

Positive thinking is very good! In order to get you through these tough times. Basically the modification did not get approve because I made my payment. I had to find funds somehow in order to make it. The workout dept. told me to make the payment and I have an email from the negotiator stating the same thing. WHY? did the process close? because they want me to be late on my payments in order to help. That does not make sense!! I do not wish to ruin my credit and that's what I'm trying to avoid here. They are looking into another route but I have called for about 2 weeks and the negotiator has not called me. It's funny how you obtain different information each time you call. I guess I'm back to calling calling and I'm about to fax fax right now. Hope others have found the light.... I'm waiting to find mines.

OK, the modification was not denied due to payments being current who ever told you that is full of ____ (fill in blank). The modifications are being done all of the time with payments current and on time. So I do not think that they are telling the whole truth....you do not have to be late on your payments to get help....that is the fact of the matter.

So time to QWR the account and send emails to the president and all of his minions and start the intense campaign....

QWR -You need to be the proactive, responsible party with them and keep at them. It would not hurt to send a QWR demand - there are examples of the letter in the Tool Box. In that letter demand your Life of Loan History, copy of Note, Deed of Trust, Riders, all Assignments of the Deed of Trust, TIL, Right of Rescission (if refi), Lender Final HUD-1, copy of initial loan application and final lender loan application, all disclosures and all loan documents in your file, copy of appraisal. Send this three times certified return receipt required and also send it to the Broker, Title Company and all others in the Chain of the Transaction.

Ok... I found out a couple of weeks ago! but I wanted to blog, once I got it in writing. Ok, so my modification was not approved, but I was approved for a Streamline Modification. They froze my intro rate for 5 full years! The bonus is that it's not only interest, but Principal too!! yayy! Im so happy! I called about six times in one day! I faxed and I kept getting the wrong information.. finally! I had two awesome! people at CW working and investigating my issue. They even called me to let me know that they are still working on it and they would continue to figure it out all for me. I was blessed!! I know that if it were not for this website, I would not have the guts to call call call call and fax fax fax fax! and I did!! My hubby is proud! yayyy and I'm sure my co-workers are tired of over-hearing me call Countrywide LOL.. anyhow, thank you all! yayy! Now lets hope the market gets better before five years! I have to refi!

Thank you ***! It's a big relief. No, nothing to sign. It's just a document letting me know that due to the market, my loan has been locked at the intro rate for the next five years. I had to make 2 payments though (March and April) with the increased cost and my Interest only 80/20 loan went up March and went up again in April... but as of May 1st, my new payment takes effect. I already logged onto the site and see this. Instead of 600.00 more or 700.00 more, it's 200 bucks more than what I was used to paying.. so I think that's great! and it's hitting the principal I can't complain! I prayed so much.. this loan would have continued going up and up and it's a nightmare! I thank this site for helping me! I didnt think I would be one of the one's that would blog on this site, and I'm glad I did. I even spoke to Moe once before I became a member. I was told to write a QWR letter and I never had to. I was getting so frustrated. I made it a habit of calling 6 times a day.. speaking to one person and speaking to another and laughing about the messed up info. I was receiving. Then I asked for a supervisor. My negotiator only called me once as noted above. I then received one call from a lady who was helping him and it was useless.. so anyhow, I know that as long as you call call call and fax fax fax, it works!!! so goodluck to all and thank yoU! yayyy I can sleep at night and not cry about this as I was already doing for 3 months... so much stress on our lives....... I'm sure you know..... thanks again!
