Clearly we were desperate. Started with Naca in February 2009. While my start with naca was wonderful I really had no contact with them after the initial workshop and counseling appointment, I did these in person. I would call for updates but never got much of an answer. Just docs received etc. I think the key to our success was naca coupled with Aaron Jones who deals with the naca proposals at FF/HLS. He was WONDERFUL. Busy and often hard to reach but he really knows what he is doing and is very forthcoming with updates. No runaround. I urge you to try and talk directly to him if you've gone through naca. We were also 2 months behind (Aug and Sept). This was the first time we fell behind. I don't know if in the end that helped us or not. So after 7 months, which I know is short in terms of loan mods, we were given 2.75% for the life of the loan which was changed to a straightforward 30 year. I admit I feel bad for our success when so many others are struggling with the same situation. I'm grateful for this second chance and thankful I can keep my kids safe and secure in their home. Thanks for reading |
