What did Bank of America do with the funds in suspense account.

If you had money sitting in a suspense account because you were going through a modification and they did not apply them, what did they do with the funds after you signed the modification papers?

Once the modification was finalized, all the funds held in suspense were applied to my account as if they were paid on the dates that the payments were actually received.
