Need advice on my first modification payment. PLEASE

My first payment is due Sept 1. The documents do not state certified check but when I called in they said I should send it certified..however, we only get our retirement money direct deposit on the 1st. Do you think I should send a regular check on time to get there by 1st or send a certified check overnight to get there on the 2nd...advise please...

If you get your funds on the first of Sep. Just western union your payment on the first. I was told by my lender it has to be on the 1st and no grace periods. Although it can be paid before the 1st also. You really dont want to give them any reason to not give you an per mod at all.

Hi as a modification success myself. You have to do exactly as told or risk everything! At Chase they did not take personal checks at all during the modification period..they only took a cashier's check. Once the modification is complete they will send you a letter in the mail that completes the modification about 2 months later at which time you can go back to paying with a personal check.
