After 14 months, one false success, countless times wanting to give up and many sleepless nights, I have the final approved modification papers in my hands ready to go the notary to be signed. Modification details: 7% fixed for the duration of the loan. Payment went from over $2600 a month to $1980 per month. $29k past due put on the back end of the loan and contribution of $173.06. Background: It's been so long and draining I'm a bit foggy on the details We had an adjustable rate mortgage and I was out on disability. It was truly the Perfect Storm for disaster. We were unable to keep up with the payments, went into foreclosure and were desperate for a solution. I found this site and was so relieved to know there was help but also very discouraged because ASC seemed so difficult to deal with. We made the decision to hire an attorney. Biggest mistake of this entire journey. I won't go into details (although you can do a search of my posts for them) but let's just say I spent more time trying to deal with them than I would have dealing with the mortgage company directly. The bottom line is that I dug and dug and dug to find ways to get into ASC and found them, here on this amazing community. I was approved for the 3 month forbearance rolling into a final modification, which was later denied. I continued on and pressed and pressed and pressed. I got another trial modification and although my negotiator was wonderful, I was not going to get my hopes up so high this time around for a final resolution. I talked to my husband and told him that I could not do this anymore. If this does not go through, we needed to walk away. That was one week ago. Yesterday, as I was watching my son play in the yard, I sat quietly and prayed for something to break. The UPS driver pulled up in front of my house 30 minutes later with the papers. The sound of that truck's breaking right in front of my house was the sweetest sound I've heard in a looooooong tim Bottom line: With the exception of the amazing people on this site, nobody cares about saving your house as much as you do. Not the mortgage company and not even the lawyer you hire to supposedly do the work for you. I was just another file on his desk. I needed to make it happen. A big thank you to everyone here... without you all, I would not be here, as a success. I did not let myself become attached to our home for the past year because I truly thought we would need to leave. But here I am this morning, fully rested after getting a good night sleep, sitting on my couch, looking at my sweet baby boy playing and knowing that this, once again, is our home. Thank you Moe and thank you members of Loan Safe. You will always have a place at our table. |

This site is extremely helpful for people and you are absolutley right that it is up to YOU to make it happen, not anybody else. I FINALLY received my load mod approval papers last week that has taken me about 9 months, a forbearance - then a denial, then finally an approval from Wells Fargo on the HAMP plan. If it was not for this site, it probably would not have happened. Congrats again! |
