Citi Residential Success!!!!! - Loan Modification Forum

Okay...

I'm shaking, my hands are sweaty, I just called and talked to my hubby, my daddy,(yeah, 40 yrs old and still a "Daddy's Girl") my sister, my mom and canceled my 2:30pm appt. with a bankruptcy lawyer.

If you have been following the posts, you will see that I have been a bit of pest to my mortgage company... and today I got some results.

I just received (right before the above mentioned phone calls) a call from the home retention department assistant manager at citi residential. She asked how I was and I said "hanging in there". She replied, "Well...let me alleviate some of your worries and concerns"

The rest is a blur except what I wrote down.

They are modifying our loan!!!

They have erased ALL late payments from the beginning of the loan.

They are not requiring ANY money down.

They are putting us in a 7yr FIXED.

They are setting our interest rate to 8% (yeah...still high....BUT...our original interest rate was 8.85% back in 2003!)

They have canceled our sale date and all foreclosure proceedings!

I praise God and thank Him for all of our answered prayers....but I am also positive that He gave me the strength and determination to not give up and to "think outside the box"! Also...I thank everyone here who has given input and advice, but most of all, Poppy! Thank you so much!

We will have the papers either Tuesday or Wednesday, sign them, have them notarized, and then this nightmare will be over for now.

The ironic part...today is the 365th day since the fire that destroyed our home and started this whole nightmare...yep, the fire happened on February 15th, 2007.

It's over. "Normal" starts again right now.

That is wonderful news, I am getting goose bumps just reading your story again. I am so happy for you.........you deserve this and the relief that comes with it. It is a NEW BEGINNING coming from a tragic loss............

Just like the PHOENIX rising out of the ashes........

I do have an article to write (I'm just starting out writing for a trade journal and the deadline is Monday!!!) but I'll be here.

Way to go Stephanie and Poppy! The power of people working for the common good is stronger than anything. Here is another perfect example of a woman that just needed a little more tools and education, which she got from Poppy and Loan Safe to make CITI listen and fix her loan.

Can I ask you a favor Stephanie?

I am trying to get the word out there about this website and the community to other homeowners and it has been hard because I am no Hope Now, Acorn, Hope Line or anything like that. We have got some attention but I feel there are more people like you who can use a website and the help, support and camaraderie of this community.

So, would you be so kind and take a picture of your home and if you want, with your family and place it in this thread like you did on the other post. This is an awesome success story and one I feel needs attention. Where are you from? Would you be interested if I did a press release to your local paper and TV News "Local family saves home with website and prayers"??

If not, I completely understand and wouldn't be upset one bit.

Anyways, great job team and I do hope you stick around Stephanie!
