Finally Oh my!!!! @hypertweeky: We're going to try to go through NACA again, but I'm not sure if we have to resubmit through the website all over again, or if we will get some sort of priority over new applicants and get "fast-tracked" through the submission process. We need to have the foreclosure process suspended, and I'm not sure how NACA will do this for us in time. I wish we could just have someone in the regional office take this situation on as a priority, given that it took a whole year just for us to be denied in the end. Back to the drawing board! |

I hope it's okay to make my post here.....I am wondering if all of the recently approved mods with CW were in default or were some folks current? My co-buyer & I are current. We originally submitted 440 pages of docs which included our entire workout package to both CW & CitiMortgage in Dec 2008. I never heard a single word or received an email from CW. I could sign-on to my CW site and I was able to verify that CW had received all of my docs. Then, after about 45 days, all of that info vanished from the CW site & it stated that there is "currently no workout information on file for this account". CitiMortgage did call me after about 60 days to tell me we were DENIED because "I only showed a 35% hardship and I needed to show a 38% hardship." I finally decided to go through NACA at that point, in January 2009. I was told I didn't need to attend their workshop. I had also read threads on Loansafe that the workshop was a waste of time and that everything could, just as easily, be completed online. I completed the 10-step process on NACA's site. I set up a phone interview. I talked to Kevin Kornegay at NACA. I uploaded several docs to NACA, including the entire workout packages(in pdf form) I had previously submitted directly to CW & Citi. Kevin Kornegay told me that NACA's system wasn't capable of opening those pdf. files because they were so large(440pages) I had to set-up several more "follow-up" phone appointments with NACA & fax many, many more docs referencing our current bank statements & paystubs. I submitted new hardship letters..etc Long story longer.... I set up several more phone appointments...I received a call from Kevin at NACA. We'd actually had an 11am phone appointment scheduled for 3/25/09. I sat home till 12:30 and no one called. I had to leave the house. I came home & Kevin had left a voice mail at 12:34. He said NACA had completed the proposal and would be submitting it to CW today(3/26/09). The bottom line on that proposal: an increase in my payment on my 1st mortgage.... I currently pay an IO of $2507.00 to CW on my 1st, owing 496k, at 6.25 ARM, set to adjust in 2011. I pay an IO of 1005.00 on my 2nd, owing 124k, to CitiMortgage, at 9.25%, which is a balloon payment/30 due in 15. The proposal does not address my 2nd whatsoever. It does, however, include principle, interest, taxes & insurance... I guess what I'm asking is: do we need to just go into default to raise red flags? I informed Citi, back when they called to inform me they DENIED me, that one roommate had just moved-out, so we had $500.00 less at that time than when I originally submitted my workout package back in Dec 2008. She told me I had to "resubmit the entire package"... I told her "You have to be kidding... I've been in this nightmare since October 2008." I begged her to just shoot an email to Gino, the guy who denied us, and to tell him we are now out an additional $500.00 a month. She said "she'd do that and that she'd act as the "middle-man" and call me back when she heard something from Gino...." It's been months and I haven't heard from her. Well, my partner of 2 years, who paid $600.00 a month, just moved out....stress killed that relationship... My income has, once again, significantly decreased to the point that I CAN'T MAKE MY APRIL 2009 mortgage payments. The proposal NACA is submitting to CW does not include any reduction in principle and does nothing to address out 2nd mortgage. I'm afraid (and so V E R Y emotionally & mentally depleted) to call CW or Citi to try to get resolution which includes a reduction in principle. We owe 620k on a home which is likely valued at 375k (or less?)now. I can't continue to borrow $ on my credit cards to make my mortgage payments. I told CW & Citi that I was on a sinking ship back in December 2008. I'm no longer sure what I can or need to do. I can't afford NACA's proposal since it actually increases my payment on my 1st. I wonder if CW will actually come back with a counter-offer along the lines of what I've read here, for the lucky 2,500 successful mods.(congrats to you all, by the way :-) How do I get CW & Citi to see my situation as it stands now? |

I spoke to a lady at CW(months ago) that said "someone called bee-oh-en-why is the investor" I said, "Oh, BONY?"I just don't understand why NACA's proposal actually increases my 1st from 2507.00 to 2705.00 and it does nothing to address my 2nd with CitiMortgage |

On March 19th we got the good news. We are now 4 months behind, the good thing is we faxed all of our documentation to NACA at the end of December (first month we missed) so we were "ahead" of the game a little bit, when did NACA send your file out to CW? The foreclosure process sort of freezes while NACA is working on your file, I know people here who were 7 months behind before they received a solution from NACA. I know is difficult but hang in there, we have to be strong!!

We can work with you after you complete the web-submission at naca.com and then complete the Urgent Situation. While we have been very successful at stopping auctions you should be pursuing other options in case we are unable to get the postponement by the servicer. |

We apparently have an "active case" now opened with Countrywide and they are also requesting some docs but I'm not sure if I should send them until I speak to Naca. I'm not sure where we stand...Tomorrow can't come soon enough! Does Naca call for sure when they say they will? I'm now worried they won't call..lol....It's just so stressful worrying about this. I wish it was something that I just didn't have to deal with but I guess in a perfect world..... I know that Countrywide says on our account that they temporarily suspended collections on our account on one loan but the second one is at 12% and they refuse to help out with it. They've submitted it twice for modification and keeps coming back denied. As of yesterday, it's on their website that they closed modifcation process on the second loan because they didn't "receive the docs in time" They didn't even request anything so I'm going to call them and go crazy on them. I'm extremely annoyed and just tired of them. |

I was approved a loan mod on 1/20/09 not a great deal but one I could live with. Sending in my upfront funds, signed, notarized paper work. My ln called to say the deal was off the table my investor (fanniemae) wanted to do a repmt to a mod on 2/6/09. Two weeks later after numerous phone calls to cw an acct manager called me to say I had been referred to the repmt to mod team. On 2/24/09 cw decided that the rempt was a bad idea (I could have told them that) so they put me in for another mod. According to the website on 3/17/09 some magical answer should have happened but it didn't. They say I was w/the income verification team, they have all my info paystubs, tax returns etc.. Now apparently I have a ln w/ a supervisor both in India, they have e-mailed them to contact me but they haven't. I will be 6 months behind come 4/1. I am not sending cw a dime until they honor some liveable deal with me. I have the paperwork to prove the mod they approved for me. I finally decided to try NACA had a phone appt today (nice Woman). She scheduled me for another appt for WED because I need to fax additional documents. If cw ever forecloses on me (my letter of intent expired 4/17/09) and I go to court with all the infor I have of my cw nite mare I can't image any judge would side w/them. There is always backruptcy or a shortsale obviously my last resorts. So lets see what happens!! Things could not get any worse!! Believe it or not I am not in foreclosure yet and everything has been temporily suspended until they come up with an answer. I am in the state of Massachusetts. |

I submitted documents to CW 4 times before I contacted NACA, once I engaged NACA'S services I quit calling CW, they just piss me off (excuse my French!) They did call me when they said they would but they were very late, I found it more effective to meet in person. CW never said they temporarily suspended collection efforts, I still got late notices and calls non stop and they acted like NACA never sent them any documentation.. so if you ask them they will say.. Oh what? no we haven't received anything from them yada yada, they are the worst, yuck! I have 2 loans with CW and NACA combined them both at 5%, I didn't ask to mod the second loan because I thought NACA couldn't do anything about it since it was a fixed at 12% but they did so definitely ask NACA!! I understand is stressful but you came to the right place and NACA has helped hundreds of thousands of people..so hang in there |

You are 6 months behind? I have seen people getting solutions from NACA and they were 8 months behind, if you happen to have an auction date NACA will try to postpone it and work in getting your solution so hang in there My experience in trying to get a modification deal from CW has been fruitless and very frustrating, If I had to do it all over again.. I wouldn't have wasted my time with CW. Hockey you are in the best place to be to get advise.. so hang in there too, we are going to make it thru this!! I have been thru so much with CW that I tell my friends that if I get a gray hair before I turn 30 I am going to be very upset LOL Take care!

I AM SO EXCITED!!! if I didn't have this very nasty ear infection I would jump up and down!! Congrats to everyone!!! |

I didnt have a chance to read my docs yet, but from what my husband says, the first payment begins in June. The new interest rate will take affect May 1st and the past due as been added to the end of the loan. Read through your docs again, yours may have been added as well. |

Thank you thank you thank you, I will be around to help other home owners and I am going to volunteer with NACA!!

if your docs are anything like mine or the other posters, then any past due payment amounts (interest portion), misc fees and escrow shortage along with the interest portion of April's payment is rolled into the loan balance. When you make the June 1 payment you are acutally paying May's interest as interest is paid in arrears on mortgages. Your new payment is the actual payment amount listed on the letter, this equals the Principal and Interest plus escrows, the payment amount on the actual modification is for principal and interest and does not include escrow portion. Congrats!!
