Hi everyone: I am very scared right now, I was sharing the good and the bad news with one of my friends at the *** forum and this is what she had to say: Maria, I hate to be a wet blanket, but is the loan modification completely processed or just approved? If it's not complete, you may run into issues. I knew that a layoff or hour reduction on my job was coming and started refinancing my house to reduce the payment. I was told it was approved and given a closing date a week and a half later. A couple days later I was laid off. The bank didn't send the employment verification until a few days before the closing. I ended up losing the loan. Totally ridiculous since I was trying to reduce the payment, I'd have a much better chance of making a payment of a lower amount when laid off. Since it was the same bank, you'd think they'd figure out for themselves that both of us would be better off if the loan went through, no reasoning with them though. I AM VERY SCARED RIGHT NOW |

If it is maybe you will get an even lower payment/%? Not sure what to expect after the approval email. I picture it to be documents explaining all details are received, sign and send back. Maybe wishful thinking? I'm crossing my fingers for you! |

As far as money we will be OK for a while, we have been saving up and unemployment should help, I just don't want them to think we can't afford it (assuming u know) and then we lose our modification, a lower interest would be nice but then again I take 5% any day which is what we were approved for, Oh man I am a wreck! Does anyone here know what kind of paperwork is to be signed and sent back to NACA once you are approved??? |

Finally Oh my!!!! chasepmtohot_firefighter: When NACA factored our expenses they did allow for the fact that we had extra medical expenses to be paid due to husband being a diabetic, since those expenses would be ongoing and we no longer have health insurance thru husbands employer as well as the fact that if we wanted to keep insurance we would have to pay the premium ourselves. I think the income ratio was about about 31% or so. |

Can you offer us any advice? I've posted in different threads out of frustration with NACA. We started the process of requesting a loan mod last March, and received a denial from Countrywide last week. We have had nothing but trouble with NACA, from them not submitting our request until 5 months after first contacting them, losing our information, giving us conflicting information, telling us only 2.5 weeks ago that our loan mod request was accepted, to now, after being told by Countrywide that the foreclosure process has re-started and that our house will be transferred to HUD in 60-90 days (we have a FHA mortgage), NACA tells us to just wait a couple of weeks and see what happens. We've only been given 20 days to request to stay in the home during the transfer process, 13 of which have already passed. We've called FHA in the past and they've told us they can't do anything because we are working with NACA, and to just be patient. We really don't know what to do, because calling every few days and emailing everyone from the regional to the main office doesn't seem to be working for us. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Very frustrated and scared NCRaider

CW has played this game with everyone in this section...........and it had nothing to do with their NACA modification.................CW's loss mitigation dept. had done everything in their power to get these members to not go through with their NACA proposals by throwing short term modifications directly from CW at them.......to telling them that they never received anything from NACA, which was a lie, ................but these members that have had success had stuck with NACA and NACA just received approvals from CW on over 2500 modifications that are through NACA. There is a dept. within CW that works directly with the non profits......and it isn't the Loss Mitigation dept., it is the Advocacy Team....... Did you ever contact CW's Advocacy Team and give them your NACA ID# to let them know that you were working with NACA? If not........... try calling and giving them your NACA ID# and ask them for an update............ CW Advocacy Team 1-877-327-9225

Thanks *** -- I'd never even heard of the Advocacy Team; we'll give them a call today and see what they know. As for NACA...I understand what you're saying, but some of this stuff had to do just with the mortgage counselor at NACA. The supervisor at the office told us that he didn't know what was going on with our mortgage counselor and why he would not return phone calls or why there was such a delay in submitting for the loan mod (we started this process with NACA in March 2008, the request for loan mod was not submitted to Countrywide until Aug. 2008). Other people had complained about the guy too, but we never got a new mortgage counselor and his behavior still has not changed. The main office always deferred us back to our mortgage counselor, so we've just continued to press and press as best as we can without tearing our hair out. Do you know if the CW Advocacy Team can do anything about the denial, or at least in stopping the restart of the foreclosure process? The reason given for the denial was "negative income", but we had a surplus of about $150 -- at least according to the info we gave the NACA mortgage counselor, so we're going to get a copy of what was actually submitted today so we can see what happened with that. I'll keep you all posted on the outcome. Thanks again -- you're an angel! |

OK so today someone dropped by and left the following note at our door: The purpose of this visit was to determine the occupancy and security condition of your property. This inspection is permitted under your security instrument. It is important that you contact your mortgage company to discuss your account. I called the number and it says they are a collector but they were closed!! I am on hold with NACA, I am 75th in the queue. is this some sort of foreclosure notice? I was approved a week ago but then Mark got laid off 3 days later, do u think there is a problem? Is this normal? Please help!! |

We had someone drop by like that on Saturday morning except I answered the door, she asked for me by my first name and said that she was a field agent checking on occupancy of the house and just walked away. I spoke to Countrywide today and she told me that it's because we're on the verge of foreclosure, they check to make sure that house isn't abandoned or taken over by squatters. She said someone will check every month. |

I honestly thought that Countrywide would be easier to work with so I didn't contact Naca right away. I spoke to Countrywide today and she said that she "officially opened a case" for the new housing plan. I'm not sure if having an offical case means anything but we'll see. They're asking for a bunch of paperwork, like notarized hardship letter, tax returns, bank statements. I'm not even sure if Naca will help us if Countrywide said they would try to modify our loan with the new plan. How is the process with Naca, is it hard to get approved for them to help out? I'm so beat after dealing with Countrywide that I don't know if I have it in me to fight anymore. |

I hope that your visitor was just an individual that may have had or gotten your name from a pre-foreclosure listing, I know here in Indiana there are people who track that stuff, we were contacted by an anonymous caller asking what we would take for our house, like months before we had ever gotten to the foreclosure stage, still not sure who or where they got their info from, kind of wierd though, I did notice on our online CW account the day after we got our approval e-mail from NACA said our mod attempts had all been cancelled, I freaked called NACA they told me do not even look at that site, as we all know it's never or very rarely updated, I am curious as to who your visitor was, maybe since so many are in foreclosure thay are just verifying that the house is in fact inhabited, by the correct parties, and maybe not a bad thing.I can't wait to get papers from fed ex, this crap is getting old , just tired aff al the bs. I hope and pray everything goes well for all of us. |

Here is the home save program outlined; https://www.naca.com/refinance/refin...?language=null I tried for months to work with CW, submitted paperwork, spoke with at least 20 people at home retention.. and all I ever got was denial letters. Do yourself a favor and get the ball rolling with NACA, they will help you. I am sorry you are going thru this, we are here to help you, I know is tough but hang in there!! |

This visit was definitely NOT what I was expecting, where in the heck did they get my info? I called CW and this guy who I could barely understand told me that they always send someone to check after 2 months of not receiving payments, we have missed 4 payments so far... I don't know what's going on. I trust that NACA will go thru with the modification.. At least I am not the only one who has not got the paperwork!! Hang in there, I will be sure to post an update once I get the documentation!! Hugs!

Finally Oh my!!!! @***: I now have a copy of what the NACA counselor entered as expenses and liabilities in our affordability budget calculation vs. what we entered via the web, and sure enough, the guy increased the amount of our monthly expenses by $300, and included $500 of liabilities that do not exist Thanks, NCRaider |

I am worried that CW will drag their feet, like they do on everything else we've tried, when dealing with them, I am hopeful that NACA will be able to control them enough to make sure they don't screw people around on this, let's get this ball rolling!! best of luck!!! |

Anyway according to the CW rep they do an inspection every month you are delinquent to make sure you are still occupying the home and it is not abandoned, I only saw a person 1 time who came by at night parked in front of the house and when I walked outside they drove off in a hurry, didn't see or talk to anyone during the other 5 so called inspections. Call Naca again tomorrow and relate your experience and ask about the approval email, hope fully they can shed some light on it and make ease your mind, my prayers are with you! |

We're going to soon be 4 months behind and I'm so scared things won't work out quick enough. We have enough to make a house payment but that will still be 3 months behind and I'm worried about being foreclosed on in the meantime. |

Hi, I just called the advocacy number and talked to a very rude woman who told me if I wanted any information that I had to go through NACA. I said all I wanted to know was if and when the packages would go out. Again, I was told that call NACA they will not discuss anything about MY loan with me. Nice huh. Unbelievable. So basically back to square one. In addition, she told me that I should be transferred to the office of the president to discuss my situation. This makes me wonder if it was even approved. I am so worried. |

When i called for a status update i got the same obnoxious attitude and was told to drop naca if I want cw to help me with my loan mod. I was also approved on 3/19 and waiting for my documents. other folks have stated that naca confirmed the mods are correct and legitimate, we just have to wait. |
