HOPE is bailing out on me.. HELLLPPPP

I guess I'm in what you would call the eleventh hour on my mortgage with AMHSI and have a court hearing scheduled for the 20th of this month. I'm scared to death about which way the judge is going to go. In the meantime my lawyer encouraged me to call HOPE. I got through to them this morning on the phone but then just before I was to speak with a counselor, I got disconnected or hung up on. Called back but was disconnected very soon after going through. Is this common with HOPE?? I desperately need the help in saving my house but if I can't get through to HOPE, then what hope is there for me and others???

What is their track record to date? Are they good at getting homeowners the help they need, getting them modifications they can afford and keeping them in their homes? I've heard conflicting stories thus far. Is there another place I can go to for help that's as effective or better?

Sally

One quick question. I take it, given reference to the Judge, is that you are in a bankruptcy proceeding (either a Chapter 7 or 13). I also take it that the judge will be issuing a ruling relating to the lender filing a motion for relief from the automatic stay so the lender can proceed forward with their foreclosure. Am I correct?

Re: HOPE is bailing out on me.. HELLLPPPP

Daniel,
I haven't filed for bankruptcy, and according to my lawyer, I wouldn't be able to afford it based on my current income. This court date is a trial and yes, I believe the lender has a motion for relief from the automatic stay so they can proceed with the foreclosure. My lawyer thinks he might be able to get me a continuance due to the fact that I have Army Designee status (which was granted to me by the Department of the Army so that I can donate one of my kidneys to an Iraq war veteran and get follow-up care through military medical facilities). He's currently going over the response I got from AHMSI/Option One after I sent them my QWR last spring to see if they improperly applied my payments, etc., etc.
