Pets are sometimes the forgotten victims in this foreclosure mess. I recently came across this site
www.nopawsleftbehind.org that might be able to help pets and their owners in need due to imminent foreclosure. I hope it can be of assistance, if needed.
Non-pet owners: Let's not forget our loyal pet friends and their families in their time of need. If you're not a pet owner, but adore your pet friends in the family, neighborhood, community, etc. and wish to help somehow in the wake of this foreclosure mess, you might consider fostering a relative's, friend's, neighbor's, co-worker's, community member's pet while they seek (pet-friendly) housing during their foreclosure process. If you can't take a pet into your home, maybe you can assist a homeowner somehow (making calls, church bulletins, networking, etc.) who is facing foreclosure with a temporary solution for their pet situation until a permanent solution is found (where they can keep their pet). Unfortunately, many foreclosure victims are forced to let go of their beloved pets/family members due to the stressors of foreclosure and the no pet policies of some landlords.
Pets are good therapy. Unconditional love. Let's help them and their families stay together, forever, in any way we can, in their time of need and during this unfortunate (and unnecessary) foreclosure nightmare for millions.
