Could it be because of the take over that things are slow or are they just extremely difficult? I keep seeing things about how these companies do not want our homes, etc.....yet very little in the way of true help ( principle reductions specifically) We currently owe almost 100,000 more than our home is worth ( may be some apraisal fraud- checkingo n that now)and without a principle reduction via H4H or whatever- they can have our house. I have already started detaching from it even though we have lived here over 17 years. I wont throw good money after bad anymore. When we got this awful loan we are now in, the mortgage broker told us we can spend 2 years rebuilding our credit bynot being late on mortgage payments, but little did I know the credit game is FAR more complicated that that- just making payments on time. Our credit score only went up about 20 after struggling majorly for 1.5 years- still not enough to qualify for prime rates because other debt was too high but because of the non escrowed mortgage payment and taxes and ins on top of that we couldnt reduce the other debt. I am tired of the game, tired of being taken advantage of by people I thought perhaps had my best interest in mind. As a result I trust no one when it comes to "advice" anymore. WAMU can have my house. I can spend alot less and rent a nicer home. As long as my family is together thats all that matters. Have not made a mortgage payment since April and Sheriffs sale is Dec 4, and trying to work with WAMU. The freedom of the past few months has been indescribable- almost all other debt is paid, my teenager can now get necessary dental work, I can put gas in my car and go to the grocery store without worry. If I cant get something with WAMU, I will stay here as long as I can, pay nothing and start over with a clean slate. In retrospect we have been preyed upon since 1999 when we let some "financial counselor" talk us into rolling debt from a failed business into our home. Yeah you think we would have known better but the fact is we didnt and it looked better than bankruptcy at that time- I was raised that financial problems are shameful and no matter what you pay what you owe. I am done. After the 6 month period after the sheriffs sale, we will move and that will be that-enough is enough. Sorry to ramble but once I got going I couldnt stop ! Lisa |
