cahomeowner will become famous soon enough
Loan Modification Companies - How can I tell the Scammers from the Real Companies

There are ton of Loan Modification companies out there and I need some help I don't want to spend $2500-3500 on some company that is just out to scam me.

What are your thoughts on the following:

Loan Modification companies that review loan docs in an attempt to find Loan Violations which can then be used as leverage in negotiating a modification.

Loan Modification companies that utilize attorney's
to negotiate on your behalf. Is this really more effective because it certainly cost more.

Loan Modification companies that have attorney's file lawsuits to stall foreclosures. These companies have you pay them directly every month instead of the lenders. Legal preceedings could take up to 2 years to resolve

We are in a terrible position and these scammers tell us what we want to hear when we are most vulnerable . Please help me make the right decision.

cahomeowner....

Thats a hard one, most of them ARE scammers. I would have a hard time trusting anything but the attorney on this site, that Moe has taken the time to check out and that are used to dealing with real estate/modification issues.
