I am trying to find out the who the investor is but they keep stonewalling me and telling me they can't give me that info because the investor pays them to service the loan. I got extension to 2 managers there however they won't call back. Funny how that works. Any ideas on this one?? Thank you. |

Unfortunately the servicing agent does not have to give out that information because that is why the investors pay them. The investor will not work directly with a customer and most investors have already given the servicing companies the instructions on whether they will or won't modify loans........ What is the interest rate at? What typeof loan is this? Is it fixed or adjustable? If adjustable when is it adjusting? Are you paying interest only or PITI? Are you in default? What state are you in? You could try to send a QWR asking who the investor is............there are examples in the Homeowner Tool Box to the left of the forum and send it certified mail return receipt requested to: GreenPoint Mortgage Attention Processing Department P.O. Box 84013 Columbus, GA 31908-4013

Since the second has already indicated that they are willing to do a short sale which most of the time only nets them between 1k-2500 then you might want to see on October 1st when the new FHA program rolls out if you are able to qualify for that instead..............something like that might work in your favor since the second seems to be wanting to work with you for a short sale....... and you would be able to get rid of Greenpoint.......... Here is the info so far on that......... FACT SHEET: FHA TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE TO STRUGGLING HOMEOWNERS
