She is in no condition to move. She has not contacted anyone in regards to this. I advised her to call HOPE to see if they can do anything for her. Her loan is a fixed 6.7% with HOME EQ. Her credit is shot so a refi is out of the question. I do know that she has to come up with 14 thousand by the end of the month and on a fixed income and given the cost of her meds, it is unlikely that she can pull it off. I am not sure where they are in the process of foreclosure, but given the circumstances, I assume pretty close. What else can I do to help? |

Even if you do the talking for her. Draft up a hardship letter (see example in the "homeowners toolbox on the left side of forum) Call local angencies for help, the hospital finance office may even be able to guide you in a direction-I'm sure they deal with this alot. Don't give up hope and hang in there!!

Can you please find out if your mom's loan is either FHA or Conventional backed by FannieMae? Also if the past due amount was able to be caught up would your mom be able to afford the payments moving forward?

I am not certain that she would be able to afford the payment now with the price of her meds, gas,and energy costs. She would definately benefit from a decrease in her payment, but then who wouldnt right now. ; ) Thanks for being here. |
