My husband lost his job last June and couldn't find one for over a month, so we got behind on our bills, and mortgage was one of them. Since that time, we have never been able to catch up. We got behind by 6 months by the time my husband found a good paying job. In January, I was told to try and do a foreberance (SP) with this company. I called and called, leaving voice mail and never having them call me back. Finally talking to someone, they faxed over the paperwork to fill out. I filled it out with a hardship letter and never heard back from them. I would call and call and again only get voice mail. I finally just quit, didn't know what else to do. They finally started foreclosure at the end of May and it was set to close on June 23. I looked to get help, not knowing where to. I found none, wish I found this site. I called and left more messages. I finally e-mailed a law office and got an answer to one question, we asked if we were able to get a loan to get caught up, would that stop it. Our answer was probably if we talk to Citi Residentia. I called and left a message again, this was the Friday before the foreclosure sale. No return call. I called the law office and talked to the lady who was e-mailing me and she called Citi Residential and got me to a live person. This was a hour of transferring me to the right department. When I finally got to the right person, she thought if we did the loan to catch up they should be able to work with us, but she had to find out if they house had sold. At sold, as I was on the phone talking to them, if only I had a return call, my house would not have been sold. I was told to call in a couple days to see who bought it through retrobution (SP). Guess who purchased it, Citi Residental. I was given a name to call and see if something could be worked out, like to reinstate the mortgage and we would get the payments up to date. I called her numerous times and got voice mail (of course). I finally got an e-mail and sent a letter. I got a response and she said she would send to who would make this decision. I didn't hear from her for over a week, so I e-mailed to see where thing stood. She said she still hadn't heard but would send another e-mail. I couple days went by and nothing so I e-mailed again. She finally answered and they said no. I asked the next step would be, she said if we can get another loan with a co-signer or a family member to buy the house and let us live there are some options or move. We can't find any mortgage company to help us, even with a co-signer and we can't ask for someone to take out the whole loan. We are suppose to go to court about this tomorrow and we can't make it because of work and school. We love our house and the neighborhood we live in. I am at my wits end. If only they had returned my calls, it would have been stopped months ago when I wrote my hardship letter and all the paperwork they asked for. I still have the paperwork on my desk, just in case they had every called me back. This company is the worst people to deal with![/COLOR] |

Maybe one of the moderators will come by and offer you a suggestion... If I were you, I'd go to court no matter what tomorrow and explain what happened and contact a forclosure attorney.

It said always go to court....may have been one of member "prof Shays" posts...

Immediatly, I mean tonight, send the same hardship letter you provided to us to all of the links she's provided!! Attach any info about the dates you called and who you might have spoken with. Citi if nothing else is anal about keeping notes of calls received even if they dont call back. Email the Pres and Ceo, you want to office of the President on this ASAP. Hala Farid is a great contact I might also add Kinkeo Kangnavong with their legal dept and ties with the Pres. office. Call in a take off work tomorrow!!! DO NOT under any circumstance not go to court. You don't show, you don't care... end of story. I know ou're burned butyou aren't yet burned out!!! You say you love this house and neighborhood... then di for i!! Go to court and let them know you've been screwed and make the judge hear. There is a thread where someone had a mod reversed and the company had to reverse itself. And bring every email you have to court to show you tried with no response. There's your argument that you were not serviced properly and possibly illegally foreclosed on. And if you're gonna get help pro bono then you've got to do some more leg work too. You go to court, you can ask for a continuance because you now have an attorney. Give them his name ad then let him handle it for you from there. You don't... show you can't even say you're represented now. Time to take the comfort out of being the boss and get the President and CEO in this!!! |

I will call the attorney's office for them on my way to clinical. My question is, how do I find an attorney? I don't even know where to start looking for that. I have no idea! |
