| Non-Profit Consumer Organizations Spending some time on this Board, I've noticed what I'll characterize as reported less than stellar performance by the non-profit organizations who are out there and were established to help borrowers deal with the challenges associated with foreclosure. One of the benefits of teaching is the free time I have during the summer. I figured what could be better than volunteering some of my available time this summer to teach those who work for this type of organization about the foreclosure process from my point of view (having extensive experience in this area). I sent an email with my attached resume that outlines my experience, indicating my desire to volunteer to provide training specifically as it relates to dealing with institutional lenders and borrowers. Below is the "thanks but no thanks response." It reinforces my belief that many of these "not for profit" organizations exist not to help their clients, but to help those who operate them. Daniel Hi, Unfortunately Acorn Housing cannot have volunteers for our foreclosure/delinquency clients because of grant’s restrictions. Thank you very much for inquiring. Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Professor Shays, It appears that many of these not-for-profit orgs ard dancing on the darkside. I sent an e-mail to my NACA counselor multiple time asking for his assistancem as well as what the status of my file was. Each time he would send me a simple reply that read "I will ask my GMAC contact"...end of story. After receiving several of those one-liners, I knew that if I left my future solely in the hand of NACA I would be in foreclosure, so I followed the advice given by the good people here at loansafe.org. It is because of my faith and belief in God that I am a success story, whose interest and terms are beyond her wildest dreams. God's guardian angels sent me to Loansafe.org. I believe that all of you together are the truly doing battle that is not only helping my generation but laying bricks for future generations to come. Last week, I sent an e-mail to my NACA counselor telling him of my SUCCESS ---he immediately fired back a congratulatory e-mail and asked me to please call him as soon as possible, so that I could share the details of my success Surreal4me2 |
