Home Equity Loan in Michigan

My ex-husband and I have been divorced for over 3 years. We were in the process of foreclosing on our house when we divorced. Since then the house has sold.....not sure to who. Now I'm getting letters from a place called Asseet Acquisition Group. LLC. They're telling me that I owe $46,520.53. I'm sure this was the home equity loan that we had on the house, plus interest for over 3 years. My questions are..........should I owe the whole ammount? Shouldn't my ex husband pay also? How does this work? How come it took so long? Is there statues of limitations for something like this? I am considering bankruptcy..........what do you think about this? HELP!!

Re: Home Equity Loan in Michigan

Hi missyflip,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining.........

Unfortunately these are questions that you need to address with an attorney as we are not attorneys those questions are a bit out of our scope......

We do have an attorney on the homepage of the forum if you need one or you can go to National Association of Consumer Advocates – Consumer Protection Advocates and Attorneys for a referal.

I hope everything works out for you..........
