Mortgage investor information

Can anyone tell me whether or not I have a right to know who my mortgage investor is? I know it is serviced by Wells Fargo, but they told me that they are not the investor and they won't tell me who is. They say that it is confidential information and they can't tell me who the investor is.

Is this true or do I have a right to know? Can I find out by some other means besides asking Wells Fargo?

My loan is with Countrywide .................. I would ask each new rep I talked to sugary sweet
Please could you check and see who the investor on my loan ? One finally told me.
But on here recently I read a post telling where to look. Maybe try a search investor
or where to find investor ..........
I think yes we have the right to know.

Thanks for the input Jennifer. I'm guessing that you are better at being sweet on the phone than I am, but I'll ask them every time I get them on the phone and see if someone "slips" and tells me.

My loan is with Avelo Mortgage - My investors "Goldman Sachs" - I found this out by asking my loan negoiator at Avelo.

I don't know if you have PMI or not, but my PMI company told me who the investor was. Although, I think it was by accident.
