The value has since dropped to $100,000. Needless to say unable to refinance. I contacted Ocwen and stated that I will more than likely be unable to make the reset rate payment in October. They just contacted me back and said that they will lower my rate to 6% fixed until 2036 and my payment will lower from $901 to $721. They said they will send over the paperwork next week. Has anyone heard of these guys making such big concessions? I was just hoping they would leave my rate at 8.39 but they lowered it that much. Any comments? Glen |

Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | gleng2- Yes it is a good deal, I received similar deal and took it. I have satified my stipulation period, and a have been waiting a month and a half for Ocwen to send me the "official" loan mod documents. I have called, e-mailed, nearly everyday. It is not funny anymore. I spoke with Ocwen today about why I haven't recieved my docs. And this is the most absurd thing I have ever heard in my life. This lady, who says her name is YVONNE, told me because I made my stipulation payments early, it has confused everything, and this is why my account has not updated and why I don't have my docs yet! HOW ABSURD! I told her I don't see anything in my stip agreement saying payments must be received on exactly the 1st of the month. She became frustrated with me and transferred me to another department. I hope you have a thick skin, Good luck! |

You pay them $900 dollars and they fix the interest rate at 6% for the life of the loan. I would say this a pretty awesome deal and you don't have much time to get it back to them. |

You must comply with what it states. They all require certified funds be sent in and modification signed in a short time. (most only give about 3 days for the process to be returned). Good to see some of the companies are doing real good deals to help the homeowner. Congratulations on your loan modification

Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | I recently received a loan mod from Ocwen - loan was set to adjust 9/1/08. I just wanted the rate fixed. They lowered from 6.261 to 6% (not a big change, but since I only wanted the rate fixed, fine by me). I have made the payments that were required and thought that all was well. I still have not rec'd the signed loan mod, my acct online still shows old rate & pyt amt. They also informed the credit bureaus that I was under a partial pyt plan and had missed two pyts. Destroyed my credit - score dropped over 100 pts (went from 'excellent' to 'not good') - I was trying to trade in my vehicle to lower the payments, but that isn't going to happen now. I sent a notice to Ombudsman on their website and supposedly they notified the credit bureaus that there was no pyt plan and that I had 'paid as agreed'. I also had to file a dispute with the credit bureaus - don't know how long it will take to fix their mistake. I try calling and e-mailing and they keep telling me that all is fine, but I don't believe them anymore. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if anything hits the fan for the 9/1 payment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the mod is in the system and my rate will not adjust. Some day I will receive the signed copy of the documents (I won't hold my breath). Keep on them and good luck with your loan mod! |
