Help for a friend with Fremont Inv & Loans

A friend of mine has her mortgage with Fremont Investments & Loans. She said her insurance lapsed and Fremont placed forced escrow on her account. Her house was classified as Victorian in error, causing the forced insurance to be majorly HIGH and causing her to be late each month. She has since satisfied getting insurance, but they will not remove the escrow. She also was approved for modification but that has not helped...the payments are as high as they were with original terms. She is now in the 16-30 day window for late payments.

What should she do?

Vinson,

You would need to have your friend join the forum..........

Just as we are helping you with your CW situation, your friend would need to join under their own sign in name and post their story so that we can answer any questions they may have..........

Re: Help for a friend with Fremont Inv & Loans

Prior to the modification the loan was adjustable…Currently; the loan is a fixed rate at 7% which brought the payment within reason. But when the escrow was forced, the payments went right back up to the ceiling and were now out of range. This forced escrow added $400 and the new payment created a serious hardship. Just recently, they got the insurance taken care of but the escrow still hasn’t been corrected or removed. At this point, because she's past due, She's afraid to call them with any demands about the escrow…her first concern is bringing her payments current to eliminate the jeopardy of losing her home.

I told her to register today.

Thanks in advance!!
