Heres my story....

Well back in 05 my husband and i were blessed with the news that we were pg with twins, well about 22 weeks into my pregnancy, i found out twin B had passed away devastating. They hospitalized me for the ramainder of my pregnancy and you can kinda see where this is going.. We did have a toddler at home that was in need of taken care of, so this put a burden on us as well, since before all this happened I was a school bus driver so my daughter came with me to work.. Not need for day care... My husband has a great job, makes good money, but we had pretty much extended ourselves to our full maxium of what the both of us brought in, well i lost my job, had my daughter and son premature about 8 weeks, daughter had to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks, and well as you read above my son needed to have a proper burial. Things just snowballed from there, starting the year 2007 out with a snowstorm with our finances. Well we decided to file bankruptcy, which we did and has been discharged, but still managed to fall behind on our mortgage. Our last payment to both of our mortgages was made in June 07, so we are pretty far into the whole forclosuer thing... I tried called SLS and they were pretty good with wanting to work out a loan modification, I called Citi and they were pretty rude, like they were doing me this huge favor and wanted to know everything i was bringing to the table.. How much of an downpayment we had etc...We have since moved out of our house and are living with my parents. I still pay the bills on the house, utilities etc, and go there every day.. i want my house back, but have no idea how i can make that happen.... so in a nutshell... we are screwed.. I just recently, found out about this option of loan modifications, the mortgage comp said there is a sale date of May 24, so DO YOU THINK I HAVE TIME... and another thing is that even if we did get our mortgage back on track, it will still cost us a little over 1900 a mth... isnt there a way they can maybe change our 30 to 40 year and that would be the miracle i would need...

Please, please call HOPE 888.995.HOPE and see what they can do to assist you, you do have time and if the modification can be arranged in the time frame set forth, or if they can postpone the foreclosure for the modification, yes I believe that you do have time.

The other agency is ACORN ACORN: Home they too are non-profit and can assist in the process of modification. If the loan has adjusted, they can probably make a dent, however if it has not there may be problems. Additionally with the amount of arrearage the problem may be that the amount of funds required by the modification process to make the payments current may be cost prohibitive. By the time that the foreclosure is perfected you will be 12 months in arrears or so....my question is ---- is it worth it to proceed into modification and continue to struggle with the situation?

That is a question that only you can answer, you have moved out and have a viable living situation....please I would urge you to call HOPE or ACORN and see if there is a chance to assist you under the circumstances.
