A lady taking pics of my home?

Does anyone know why they do this? Is it to make sure you still are occupying the home? A short while ago, there was a woman in her car across the street taking pictures of our house. We are in the 3 month HAMP trial program. The sale date for our home was October 14, but I verified it was cancelled as they said it was. Any answers greatly appreciated

Re: A lady taking pics of my home?

she is probably a stupid REO agent that has a office locally.this happens to me for the past 3 months ever since our house was scheduled for sale had it postponed 2 times already.they think there gonna list that house after the forclosure sale thats why there taking pics.but i hope you make them feel really stupid when they find out that the house was saved and that they dont have the satisfaction of listing your house.

I'd be tempted to paint something obscene on the garage door...but that's just my twisted sense of humor.

Re: A lady taking pics of my home?

Likely it was an REO agent, like Chow suggested. (I formerly worked as a transaction coordinator/real estate) and this is what some agents do full time these days. (I actually know a wife whose husband is doing solely REO listings and with baby in tow, she drives around taking photographs of his potential future listings).

They probably haven't heard that your sale was cancelled! CONGRATS!!

Re: A lady taking pics of my home?

When I was negotiating the mod on my commercial building it was not uncommon for some dirtbag in a car to park outside and take photos. One time I walked out and the car sped away. I called the police on them.

Next time I asked who they were, they showed me the inspection order and I called the bank to confirm. All was fine I let them take photo.

Lenders want to make sure the property is occupied when you have not paid the mortgage in a few months.
