I have had a Chase mortgage for 4 years. I work out of my home (but work for a company). Work was getting scarce last fall and working production, I was not making much money. So changed jobs, making less money. Took $800 from my tax refund and sent it to Chase towards a payment. Then the next month (March) I heard that Obama had signed the Homeowner Act and the very next day I faxed my paperwork to Chase at the number on their web site. So a month goes by and I call up Chase to see if they got my paperwork. Oh no, that fax was not a working fax. So the Chase person gives me another address to send the paperwork to. So I send in another set of paperwork by US mail. Never heard a thing from anybody. I did not know if I was supposed to be making my regular payments but I did not because I was not making enough money to make the old payments. So I get a letter in June saying since I had not made a payment they were referring my account to the Homeowners assistance department. I think great, maybe they are getting around to my loan mod. Everytime I called, I would either get somebody foreign that you could not understand or somebody who said they had not received my paperwork. So in July, I get this letter from these lawyers saying Chase/Deutsche were foreclosing on my house. So that very day I call Chase and talked to several different people, getting the run around from everybody so I ended up talking to one guy who said my name was not on the foreclosure list so he set me up with what he said was a "trial loan mod" . I did not get the paperwork until Thursday and I was supposed to have it back and signed by Saturday. Sounded fishy to me because it said if I was still behind or not current in my account at the end of the "so-called forbearance" that they would still foreclose on the house. Now tell me people, if a person has been laid off or had to take a lower paying job, where are we supposed to come up with the money to make the so-called back payments. I was clinging to the Hope that was on the White House website where it said that lenders had the option of "forgiving any past due amounts, any late payments and could also forgive the entire loan amount". So anyhow even after I sent in the first initial payment and the paperwork, I still got the foreclosure papers from the court. So I got a legal aid attorney, who wrote me up a paper to send stating that the foreclosure action should not have been taken because I had the forbearance plan in. So I got an offer from the lawyers the other day and they said if I wanted to reinstate my "loan" I had to come up with $9000 for attorney fees, etc. and back payments. Now here I am in a lower paying job than before, no savings, and if I had any savings, I would have used it by now to make any late or back payments. So anyhow I sent by certified mail Friday a request to the judge and the lawyers for a hearing, (can't think of the term right now). I sent my third forbearance payment in Friday on the advice of my legal aid attorney. I have lived in this house for 35 years and I am too old for this nonsense. I think that is what Chase is banking on though. They think I am some stupid old woman that they can take advantage of. However, I sent Mr. Jamie Dimon, CEO Chase a fax on friday outlining what I thought of Chase and how could he throw people out on the streets just so he could have a few more bucks in his million dollar bank account. Anyhow I am putting the letter on youtube tomorrow at the debtors revolt page. I told Mr. Dimon that this would probably kill me if he did not resolve this situation. (I mean literally kill me from a heart attack or stroke). And that he did not care about his fellow Americans and that he only cared about his own bank account. So I will see where I go after I post myself on youtube. I have nothing to lose.
