Unhappy Looking for relief from Litton lies....

A person can only bend so far before they break. I am at that point I'm afriad to admit. Not to go into my sob story of life, because I'm usually such an optimist, but this has been a rough year to say the least. Litton is just adding to the mix with their lies, confusing tactics and deceitfulness. My husband and I have been trying to modify our loan with them for about a year now. We have been patched through from one person to another, been made promise after promise, have sent in the required paperwork [numerous times], and now are receiving foreclosure notices. We spoke to a woman who said we were approved for the modification, but somehow she seemed to fall off the face of the earth and our paperwork...lost? Then, we were hooked up with Sean Wilson who told my husband all was well, that there were a lot of new government programs now, and that we could be helped...no problem. Once again, we sent the required paperwork, and three months later, no word, and Sean Wilson...seems to have disappeared too.

We are trying to keep up with our monthly payments on this loan, but due to injury and job loss (on my part) we fell behind. We aren't looking for a free ride, just a lower interest rate and some help getting caught up. Litton has just 20% of our loan which was sold off to them by Countrywide who has the 80% portion. Countrywide refinanced us at a much lower interest rate within 3 months and we've been doing great with them, but dealing with Litton for the past year has been much like a nightmare that won't quit.

Today the mail carrier put a notice in my box about a registered letter to pick up from who other than "Litton Loan Servicing." I don't remember the last time I had a decent night's sleep due to worry, my blood pressure must be through the roof and I'm just trying to keep a roof over the heads of our children. I'm so sorry for everyone here dealing with this company or any like it. I keep hoping for a miracle, but this optimistic girl is feeling like singing the blues lately.

I don't know anything about the lenders first hand. Do you have a second with Litton on your house ?? It's my understanding a lender who has a second on your house can never really take it....they can harass you and so forth. So, it's not like you are going to get kicked out of the house at any rate.

It is a sub-mortgage that was sold off to them by our main mortgage company Countrywide. They have 20% of the total loan. I'm not sure what the law is on them foreclosing on a mtg. loan where the majority is carried by another lender, but it's definitely frustrating when they have a part in it, and they won't work with us. Thanks for your comment.

Kind of figured more folks would chime in will input for you. Sounds like a funky deal. I think the theory is the first almost always is owed the most $$ on the mortgage, so the second would have to buy out the first to have any muscle.

Re: Looking for relief from Litton lies....

egirl - sorry for your struggles - since your main mortgage is with Countrywide I believe that the second lien holder cannot foreclose (if I am wrong someone will chime in)
That being said, I would start calling again on Monday and keep calling until you get ahold of someone. Be persistant and hang tough.

Our second is with Litton as well. They all lie lie lie! I have written their Executive Resolution team several times and when trying to get ahold of the girl handling our account we get voice mail. And surprise of all surprises she has yet to return our phone calls in the last three months. Litton really should be investigated by some government agency. They have yet to provide us with any help, only a huge headache. I am right there with you and will be hoping for the best for you!

Have you tried calling ther ERT? I always get a live person when I call the Litton ERT. Here is their number, they will help you much more than the Loss Mitigation department. I have been at this for 11 months now and just made my final payment in my "workout plan". I am not holding my breath that they are not going to find some piece of paperwork that is missing, but am hopeful this will be done soon. When I spoke with the ERT today the person I spoke with said I should hear something by the end of the month and I was welcome to call back every week to see if there were any updates.
