About that "modification"...

I've been busy lately so I haven't posted in a week or 2.

My last post was that Candace from FF called me to inform me that we were approved for modification. She did not have specifics but said I should expect a return call soon. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I've left messages on her voicemail (which, by the way, instructed me to leave a message and NOT call back because she would return the call in 24-48 hours). Well....no call yet. In the meantime..

On 2/20 Martika from FF called to arrange for payment. I told her I was awaiting a call from Candace about our modification. Martika confirmed Candace as the negotiator and would have her call me. NO CALL.

On 2/26 Ryan with FF called to arrange for payment. I told him that I was awaiting a return call from Candace, and that Martika was contacting Candace to have her return my call. Ryan confirmed the modification was approved and that I should NOT make payment arrangements as it would be included in our modification. He was leaving word with Candace to return my call.

On 2/27 Frank from FF called to arrange for payment. I told Frank all of the above and he said............"OH, YOU HAVE CERTAINLY NOT BEEN APPROVED FOR MODIFICATION". He went on to tell me that as of last Friday the foreclosure process was going to start. He informed me that if the house is sold at sheriff's sale or auction and does not sell for what we owe we will be getting a 1099 for the difference and it will be considered income. I asked Frank why Candace would call me out of the blue and tell me we were approved for the modification after all these months of battling with the single-celled organism, Matthew Long, and the faxes and re-faxes and calls that were not returned and messages and copies of bank statements and blah blah blah.....if it was not true??!!!

I've been at this since last July. And now, we have come to realize that we are losing the house. We can not stay here so we are moving on. We'll just wait out the rest of winter and move when it's nice out. We already have another place that will be ours in April. It costs less than half of what we are paying here.

BEST WISHES, FIRST FRANKLIN!! The house is yours! Just tell me where to leave the keys in April!!!

Char....have you called back in since this was a collector that you spoke with and they are the most ignorant and untruthful sorry SOB's in the food chain? I find it hard to believe that you have that many confirmations of Modification of the mortgage and to have one ungrateful sorry SOB make those statements.

Please call back in and try to find out the truth....for that matter if the Foreclosure process is in the start phase as of almost 2 weeks you should have received a letter...a NOD letter or other threatening attorney type letter.

I wonder if "Frank" was telling the Truth.....

Char, Please get these hosers on the phone (I just turned Canadian, I am so ticked) and get them to get you something in writing - raise holy heck with them. You shouldn't be jerked around like that - it sounds like you should've been receiving a mod package...I hope they didn't do what I think they did by running out the clock on you...

I just laughed my "bum" off at the Canadian comment!! My husband and I do that to eachother all the time. Add an "eh" here and there and then say, "Whoops....I just went Canadian"!! We're 45 minutes from Canada anyway....so we have an excuse!!!!

As for FF....I fear that because they are the latest casualty on the Mortgage IMPLODE-O-METER....we may be $hit out of luck!!! The thing is, after ALL this time and effort and money I've spent on doing all that was asked of me....it's all for nothing anyway!! And becuase of that, we've found an alternative place to live. It's pretty much a done deal....we're just pulling together a little money and Grandpa is planning on helping with the rest. And, as it turns out, the place is bigger....4 beds/2 baths, living room, family room with FP, dining room, huge kitchen with island. It's nice and the good thing is....it's less than half of what we were paying for this house.

Don't get me wrong...we've put all our blood, sweat, tears and money into this house for the past 15 years. What started out as the scuzziest house on the block has been turned into the nicest. We've brought home 5 children from the hospital to this house. We've had wonderful holiday memories and fun having the neighborhood block party with the street closed off and a band playing in the middle of it. We have such great memories of all that has happened here.....but, we will take that with us when we go. We will just turn the page on this chapter and move on to the next. Actually, the thought of being able to LIVE and not worry because I went to Target and bought an Easter decoration but the electric bill is due. We've been living hand-to-mouth for so long just to keep our heads above water...and we were sinking fast. So, I feel relief at the prospect of moving.

Char ---- at least put them through some of the same misery that you have been through....call and see if that Modification was real and have them work on the process to get it out to you if it were, who knows....it may not be lost, then again, make them work and if you do not what it, tell 'em where to put it.....
