Help with Litton and modification!!!

Need help/advice on what’s going on with Litton Loan and my request for a modification. I've been on this forum previously this year.

I am self employed and have been at this process since November. I actually had a mod plan ready to be presented to the investors back in March by Litton when the new system came in and that was scrapped. I’ve been calling pretty much weekly since then and had them ask for some additional papers a couple of weeks ago. In one of my latest calls to Litton about the status of the loan modification request, they said it had been turned down. I spoke with the rep in LM and she couldn’t provide more details other than I didn’t meet investor guidelines. We spoke a bit further, and she told what income was in the system for me. I told her that was not accurate (lower), told her that I had a mod plan back in March based on the different, higher numbers and gave her those numbers. Based on the updated numbers, she was able to “pre-qualify” me and ordered an exterior appraisal on my home (previously none had been ordered for me). I have to resubmit papers as well but she told me I am back under review for a modification.

Based on other people’s experience, what does all of this mean? What does it mean when you are pre-qualified and a BPO is ordered? I think I am further along in the new system now, but don’t know for sure. Also, has anyone ever received an inaccurate letter regarding a workout from Litton? When I finally received the letter from Litton declining my request for a workout, the letter said I had sufficient income to meet pay my mortgage and meet my expenses and thus my request for a workout was declined. This is not true, especially based on the numbers they had in the system for me..

Any advice? I originally requested assistance due to temporary loss of income (and frankly a mortgage payment that is $800 more per month than the original payment), so am behind on my mortgage..

I am self-employed as well. I would let them know that your self-employment income is variable. I have heard of people getting results by e-mailing the top brass of Litton as a last resort. Perhaps *** can put them up or I will try to find them later.
Good luck and do not give up.

Re: Help with Litton and modification!!!

Hi bailey's dad:

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this. This has been a bit of a nightmare. I've read your thread, and it sounds like you have had someone in ERT that talks to you and help be an advocate. I've been working directly with Loss Mitigation over the past months (and frankly a lot of them know me there) but on Friday a rep I never spoke with before said she couldn't talk with me "Due to the status of your account" and made me talk to the Foreclosure Department (yes, I am that far behind but I've been in that status for a while and was always able to talk directly to Loss Mitigation). They at least confirmed I am pre-qualified and have a BPO ordered. But I sure don't feel comfortable having them as my point of contact during this process. Do you have a number for the people you've worked with in ERT? Or do you have to be assigned to one?

Re: Help with Litton and modification!!!

Hello Youngbel,

You have two ways to get to Loss Mitigation. One is to dial 1-800-247-9727 and wait for them to ask for the extension and then put "7770". The other is to dial 713-247-9727 directly, but that costs money.
Once someone answers, ask if you are in the Executive Resolution Dept (at least until you get to know some of the names). The reason why to ask if you are in that dept is sometimes the ERT is very busy and they will route the call to another department. If that is the case, you will be speaking to some one other than that department and as you have found out, they can sometimes be not very helpful. The foreclosure dept. can be particularly unfeeling. I had my first approved mod rejected due to insufficient info, spoke with the Foreclosure dept., and remember feeling like I had gotten kicked in the gut, because it seemed so hopeless.
Once in the ERT, ask for Brenda Garza, she is particularly sweet and helpful; but almost everyone there is good (except for maybe Ms. Benjamin).

Do not lose hope. You have to be positive.

Hi baileys dad:

Thank you so much for your reply. I read your thread again, and I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts are with you. It was more than kind of you to take the time to reply at this time.

Thank you for the numbers and names. This is VERY helpful. I will post what happens. I did receive a letter from Litton confirming they are reviewing my request for a workout. The BPO should be coming in any day. I will post what happens.
