Newb, Needs help Wells Fargo Equity

Hello All, glad I found this site:
Now down to business. I have a loan with Wells Fargo Home Equity. It is in first position as I don’t have any other mortgage. The amount is owed is 256K 15 year note payment 2503.12 month. In the last few months I have lost over 3,000 per month in income and I have been watching my savings dwindle while paying this mortgage. So I called the equity department today, got transferred around a few time with people asking questions and things like that then got to a lady who took some information from me. I am not late on my mortgage and I have never been late or missed a payment. I know that, my house is not worth 256K now and when they appraised it for me to do this re-fi they went over 90% loan to value. Anyway I explained to them that I was going to have trouble making my payments. They we very glad I called prior to being late or missing a payment. They took down my monthly income and expenses over the phone and are asking for a hardship letter last year’s w2's and two current check stubs. She said they may offer a 12 to 48 month drop in interest currently at 6% so not sure how low they will go and reduced payment. They said the terms of my loan will stay the same and once the time has passed payment will go back to where it was. That's fine with me as I will be getting different bonus money and will be in a different situation by paying off some bills. This all sounds too easy to me by the way they made it sound on the phone, am I missing something here and what do I need to watch out for. Does anyone know what I can expect as an offer or anything like that? I appreciate any feedback.
