Elderly Mom out of State

This is a separate issue to my problem so I started a new thread.

My elderly Mom, 88, is making payments on a loan at 8-1/2% interest. It's on about 65,000. It's really tough getting the information out of her but sister and I are making progress. She lives on her Social Security only. She doesn't believe she got screwed but I think it's predatory to max out the equity on a little old house and charge her 8 1/2%.

So here's the question. Who could we call to help us with this situation? Would we call NACA and/or get her information all input or would them or some other organization help with a Senior by making a house call? Any ideas are appreciated.

CW cali..
If you contact NACA with her, they will work over the phone with her. Of course, it will require her participation.

Re: Elderly Mom out of State

Thanks Dan
The problem is she is not going to be able or willing at 88 to sit on the phone with NACA. I can't even see her dealing with the voice prompts. I wonder if I can get her information input if I could somehow appeal to some kind soul to call her from NACA via through the counseling appointments.

She got a telephone call from a loan rep with Wells Fargo, her lender, to see if they could "help" her further. She went up to the local office and they are saying she may be able to refinance to FHA. Her house will not appraise out on a regular loan but I am wondering if this could be some other program?
