Hardship Letter

I have been told that a hand written letter is better than a typed letter. Is that true? If so, why?

Hi jberg01,

I'm not sure if that is true. I have seen many hardships both typed and written and I would assume a typed letter would be much more easier for the lender to read...

Re: Hardship Letter

I thought so as well, but I was told it ups the sympathy factor if it is hand written.

Re: Hardship Letter

My agent told me to do a hand written one as the banks often feel that a typed one might be written by someone else (agent or a form letter I guess).
