Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | If your bank is a Nationally Chartered Bank, like Countrywide Bank, you need to file a complaint with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. They govern matters dealing with RESPA and TIL violations. However, this get's tricky because American Wholesale Lenders, which is a division of Countrywide Bank that Countrywide wrote loans under is governed by the New York State Banking Authority. So make sure to look at your Mortgage Note to see exactly who your lender is, and if they are a nationally chartered bank. My loan documents name both Countrywide Bank AND American Wholesale Lenders as the lender. The New York State Banking Authority tells me that it is the lender on the NOTE that I should go by, so I have to file a complaint with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
