did BOA sell my loan just so they wouldn't have to refinance me?

My loan with BOA was sold in November to M&T, and from what I've heard they've been working on the homeowner bailout for quite some time, did my loan get sold simply because they wanted to reduce the # of people they have to refinance? Pissed if that's the case.

    fergie,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining.........

If you are trying to obtain the HARP refinance for Fannie/Freddie backed loans, you wouldn't have to go through BofA so if the servicing of your loan changed you should still be able to refinance.
